Anybody that plays Demon Gaze wanna help me out?

some of the members in my party arent able to attack or use skills for some unknown reason. I've tried re-arranging my party formation and I still get one or two party members that wont be able to do anything but defend. It's really frustrating

Party members that aren't ranged or that don't have methods of using ranged skills can't do anything but defend if they are in the back of the formation.

What I do is have the Gazer and a Paladin in front of the formation, so the Paladin tanks most of the damage. So then I have the ranged and skill based part members in the back.

Its okay Sony, its not like you have JP Publishers and Developers pulling up your slack or anything X(. Also, it's not like your own Japan teams that make games for the Vita you hate so much are doing great or anything (....despite both Freedom Wars and I think Soul Sacrifice Delta doing quite solid in JP :D)...

This is so frustrating X(. I get they just put up there hands and said "FINE! Were done! This thing just can't sell, so lets make it some crappy add-on for PS4 owners...Oh! Forgot we got some suckers to actually by the system....lets throw some PS2 remasters we wiped up in a few months and some PS3 ports to tide them over..." but come on!

Altus, Namco-Bandi, X-Seed, and Tecmo-Koei are giving solid support to the Vita and there games HELPED sell systems (Persona 4 Golden sold a lot of Vita's in Japan and North America Sony X()....so what does this message tell them?

It tells them "Oh, so you give two shits about your platform? Cool, we will shift our games that could sell really well to mobile and 3DS; at least they care about there platforms". These are companies who only expect modest sales for there products and don't mind there games not setting the world on fire....both factors (alongside the fact that the Vita is a good transition to them from the PSP) that pushed them to put there products on Vita. Now you tell them to not bother making games for Vita when they HELP selling damn Vita's X(!

....You know what, what ever; at this point, we all know Sony hates the Vita.... At least we love out Vita's and the line up for at least the next year or so looks great from the Indie front and JP Developers/Publishers front :l....

I'm sure their Japanese partners are delighted to hear that Sony is positioning their best selling platform in the market as an accessory to a device currently inching towards Dreamcast numbers! That won't encourage them to move to mobile or Nintendo platforms at all!

Wow... That's one thing I've never really considered. SCEJ's biggest seller right now is essentially being "marketed" as an accessory in other parts of the world. That's got to be effecting their sales too, right? Or do they have enough games that aren't being localized to stand on? Could that push SCEJ into making mobile games in order to capture the mobile gaming market?

Ah, ok. I got confused all the time it asked me to choose the number in front and always chose 1, everything works now.

I don't think its going to be that hugely impact sales in JP (as they right now don't really care about the PS4; they won't till at least another year or so when big JP games start landing on the platform. I expect Deep Down and BloodBorn to be the games that start selling the system over there).

That being said, it must morally be pissing them off; the games they are working so hard on over-seas and are bothering to localize here....are all in vain. In JP, the handheld market still is huge and the fact that those developers are starting to transition PSP development over to Vita now will ensure the system does well in JP.

In US however.....I expect third party support to get even worse starting next year; the message the Vita is an 'add-on' to the PS4 in the states will be planted in there minds, making them stop localizing there JP games in the US (I don't know about EU as SCEE does care about Vita; they are the reason Indie games are landing on the platform after all).

That will make the Vita library even more anemic over here and Sony's plan to 'Lets just leave the 3rd parties to make games for our system! Its not like WE have to make them or anything?!?' hit them right in the face latter on X(.

Sweet. I have the exact same layout for my Persona games, though I use this picture:

On a related note... I just bought FFX/X-2 for my Vita, even though I don't have enough space to install even one of them. I'm slowly but steadily migrating my usual Steam behavior to PSN...

Man that is a great wallpaper :D! I just put in my Vita a few minutes ago, so thanks for sharing it with us :).

While the declaration will surely hurt Vita it's not like that those words will change the fact that in Japan Vita still outsells the PS4, developers look at their business not at words.

Vita in Japan is always getting new games, VN or not they have games to incentive the purchase of the device.

Still no Demon Gaze or Deception IV :(

So my Vita has been having problems reading the memory card, and it even corrupted my NMH Puzzle save. It worked last time I used it, but I am wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if the memory card or the system was the cause. I would love an excuse to buy a 32 gb card, but if it is the system, I may hold off.

Very MEH sales. Dungeon Hunter would have been a decent pick were it 1/3 of the the discounted price

Yet I have to buy a 20€ PSN card because I'm short of 3 cents to buy Kung Fu Rabbit. Fuck everything

Kung Fu Rabbit turned out to be a nice game for the sale price, but the damn thing is too slippery and floaty. I don't like that kind of platformers.

Ah, ok. I got confused all the time it asked me to choose the number in front and always chose 1, everything works now.
Key tip for Demon Gaze- have the gazer cast 'whistle' before every major boss battle or chance of running into one at a circle, it'll protect you from the first time the enemy forces a formation change on you. That messed me up quite a bit at the start!

Lots of the buffs like 'whistle', 'force guard' etc last for ages, so they are worth having up all the time. You can see which ones are active at the top of the screen, to the left of your party members.

It's astounding how Playstation still doesn't let you add exact funds. Surely they would make more sales if you could?

You could do that for the first couple years or so. I guess they figured always leaving people with a little change in their wallet was a good way to incentivise them adding more to buy something else... that or having money in millions of wallets is something they can count and use as an asset, like $5 pre-orders at Gamestop.

It's not enjoyable, whatever it is.

Yeah, it's got to be hard to try to get Square Enix's attention when Vita doesn't exist to two thirds of the company. It impacts their ability to get bigger titles, and that definitely hurts their sales.

As for the mobile gaming market, I don't know. I suspect SCE will try to get Japan Studio to save PS4 over there. But I'm not sure it'll work.

I feel like SCE's major failure with Japanese third parties occurred in the late PSP years. SCE let a bunch of big name games rot in Japan, failed to establish big IPs prior to Vita's launch (thus pushing some of the burden off of third parties to move hardware), and let the platform easily fall into irrelevancy in the west.

While the declaration will surely hurt Vita it's not like that those words will change the fact that in Japan Vita still outsells the PS4, developers look at their business not at words.

I disagree. I think SCEE and SCEA treating the platform like it doesn't exist really hurts SCEJ's ability to get larger third party titles. At this stage in the platform's life, I think it's pretty clear Vita has the skeevy anime and non-Monster Hunter co-operative action game crowds on lock. It's time to expand the audience with other titles. But who's going to want to invest in not sure things on the platform when their sales potential is basically capped to a small base in Japan?

IIRC it's because Sony doesn't want to pay credit card fees on tiny transactions.

Not sure what you mean, I can definitely add exact funds during payment. There is that $5 minimum rule but I don't see it as a big deal. It makes sense to have a minimum because CC transactions aren't free to process.

There's so much on the store that cost less than $5. Avatars, backgrounds, and certain games/Minis may cost as little as $0.49. Then there's the whole "one cent short" issue.

I know it's not free, but even Nintendo lets you add exact funds, no matter how small the amount may be. Sony are just ahead in so many ways that it really makes the parts they're behind in stand out.

On a different note, I didn't know Project Diva f had DLC! There's nothing in the game to show it, so I figured that everything was already included. Its actually kind of neat; like finding out as a kid that there's a sequel to a game you like, months after the fact. Back before Internet haha.

The other day I watched something quite interesting.

Final Fantasy Type-0 launched in October 2011 in Japan. On the PSP.

How the hell Sony didn't get that game as a cross-gen release? If I were SCEJ I'd have handled the port and PAID a naughty amount of money to Square in order to get a brand as powerful as Final Fantasy at launch.

I'd add that to the list of mistakes Sony did with the Vita XD

Nothing on the store for me this week, which is nice because I'm trying to save money. Although it's kind of funny to see The Swapper in the pre-order section alongside all of the other AAA games. I'll definitely be picking that up for Vita when it comes out.

Soul Sacrifice Delta #GotY platinumed! My stats page says that it took me 115+ hours, but a lot of that was probably because of farming. Completely worth it.

Well done!

Congratulations, ZeroAKA! I'm waiting for a sale myself before I jump, but I'm also waiting for the right opportunity to get the first game's platinum as well.

Again, why is it such a big deal to have less than $5 left over in your account? You'll get rid of it next time you buy something that costs more than $5.

I'd be annoyed if the minimum was like $20 (ie. like buying prepaid cards), but < $5 is chump change.

According to Tabata, their plan was to release the game on Vita had the platform sold well. SCE's mistake was letting Square Enix even have that plan.

What game
I'll probably don't know
had that text?

I didn't know what that 386 thing was neither. First CPUs I know are the Pentium ones. If Wikipedia is right I was born 6 days after the original Pentium was released lol.

Intel 80386 CPU - 1985 ~ 1986
Intel 80486 CPU - 1989
Intel's first Pentium CPU - 1993

The game was Falcon 3.0 by Spectrum Holobyte, released in 1991.

As I recall, those system requirements I posted (286 minimum, 386 recommended, 486 "Really Hot!") were on the side of the box of one of the Falcon 3.0 releases (Big Box, or Gold edition).

Damn this Persona 2&3 deal for Vita... Damn it to hell. I promised myself I would play P3:FES and not portable one.

Somebody please stop me

Tell me how it should be played on comfy couch and a big screen

I'm really liking Mutant Blobs Attack, guys! It seems like a fairly short game, I'm in the Military Base right now. Guacamelee! is better though.

They should have added money until Square Enix plan had changed. They didn't, which is a shame. I'm sure Type-0 at launch + Uncharted: Golden Abyss delay in order to get a U2-like multiplayer would have done wonders for the system.

People should play FES first since it's the most "cinematic" experience. It includes actual cutscenes and 3D models/environments outside of Tartarus which makes the story that much more enjoyable and (imo) is the way the game should be experienced the first time. Then you play P3P as FeMC so see little tweaks to the story and the improved gameplay elements.

I'm confused. I've bought several things off PSN where it adds only the required funds for the purchase during the checkout phase.

Edit: Nm, I missed the whole discussion.
