Although didn't we know all the Starter Characters for Brawl atleast two months before the release? Like Olimar was the last Starter revealed...although that was when the game was delayed.

Yeah... That DK Rap part seems like further proof that this is all a joke.

Granted, it wasn't hard before, between contradictory info and illogical choices like cutting Meta Knight simply because "He was perfect as is."

I mean, on top of the aforementioned Toon Link/Olimar FS' and Dedede now always throwing Gordos, we also know that Ike's flames are still red, not many Final Smashes are changing (I think Luigi and ZSS are the only ones who got new ones, not, like, everyone), all the alt. costumes sound complex barring the one we know about where Link keeps his hat (And do shiny Pokemon count as alts? I just see the one that we have [Greninja's] as a palette swap), and if Shulk's part of the starting roster, it seems like he'd get a trailer before Chrom, who's apparently secret.

Just wait and Wario gets revealed for EVO instead of Captain Falcon.
 
A trusted source revealed to me that as a cross promotion to help the struggling sales, Nintendo enlisted Batman and Superman as the final guest characters.

R.O.B and Jigglypuff will be appearing in the upcoming Batman VS Superman movie to help promote the Wii U (hence the films delay).

Let us discuss this in depth.

Plot twist: R.O.B. Is the true villain of the movie. Batman and Supes have to team battle Jigglypuff and R.O.B. on Final Destination, no items, 5 stock.

While that is technically possible, I have a hard to imagining a scenario where Wario or Meta Knight is an unlockable character.

It's to build up suspense. Like when Sakurai didn't reveal Cpt. Falcon for Brawl =p
 
The first rumor is obviously bullshit, but it's funny that both the second and third rumors (which are unrelated, right?) both specifically say Wario is coming before the end of next week. It'd be funny if that actually happened, only because people would then trip over themselves trying to figure out which source to believe.
 
So, I got bored and did something.
If we assume:
1) Every franchise ever with a character in Smash has a character return, plus the remaining Gematsu leak characters are in
2) Every one of those franchises gets a new stage in each version
Then we have 18 more stages to see in the 3DS version and 14 more stages to see in the Wii U version.
Specifically, in the 3DS version, stages for Donkey Kong, Metroid, Yoshi, Kirby, Star Fox, Pikmin, Sonic, Wii Fit, Megaman, Rhythym Heaven, Xenoblade, Wario, F-Zero, Earthbound, Ice Climbers, Game & Watch, R.O.B., and Metal Gear Solid; and in the Wii U version, stages for Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Kirby, Star Fox, Mii (although Pilotwings could be it for them), Rhythym Heaven, Xenoblade, Wario, F-Zero, Earthbound, Ice Climbers, Game & Watch, R.O.B., and Metal Gear Solid.
However, some of these could easily not return (coughMGS) or not get stage representation (coughROB). On the flipside, there'll likely be many more past stages, multiple stages for series already in the game, and stages for series that don't have character representation. So I think it's fair to say we have at least 20 more stages to see on each version.
 
Well Brawl had 23 Starter Characters (counting Zelda/Sheik/Samus/ZSS/Charizard separately since they're dual-slots now), and right now we know 33 characters, so it does seem this may be it for the Starting Characters. Although we don't know if Sakurai this time around revealed secret characters earlier (Sonic and Pac-Man might still be unlockable), so maybe we'll see Ice Climbers and Wario. They're the only characters left I can't see being secret.
 
I will also say, if the starting roster was finalized and we had all the starters confirmed I imagine Sakurai would do an update saying "here is the starting roster when you first start playing the game"

I >believe< that it was said that Smash 4 started with porting over elements from Brawl (such as the Brawl capsule shown in the original E3 Direct), which if that was the case would mean that all the changes would be layered on top of that. I definitely don't think that including an old Final Smash in the demo would have been done purposefully to mislead people or hide new FSs, but it could have easily just been a product of an early build that didn't have all the changes Sakurai wanted to include in it yet.

Its always easier to create a software based on another working software, they only need to slowy replace the code.

Changing a character is not different, a character is basically made of text files. You just need to change those files.

If they didn't change a Final Smash of some character, it will still have the old one, and final smashes probably dont require any kind of compatibility code, as when they are used, every other action of the user is stopped.

So, in my opinion, those final smashes may or may not be the definitive ones.

Yoshi's is obviously Yoshi DS 2. I actually like a few tunes in New Island.

Metroid has Other M.

Sonic's is Sonic Chronicles.

Donkey Kong is Returns...only because it's derivative compared to the others and doesn't have a lot of stand-out themes.

Mario's is probably one of the minor spin-offs, but from the big ones I'd say the Gamecube ones are usually seen as the weakest, but not horrible.

Zelda's would be Phantom Hourglass, I don't recall any standout songs from that one.
 
I feel your pain. I moved to LA away from all my Smash buddies, so I'll only be able to play then online. It's nice I hero play them still, but it's not the same as running home at midnight and playing with them on the same couch launch night.

LA GAF should have a SMASH launch local play tourney somewhere. I would do it if I had a big enough place lol.

If we're talking about alternate colors, there's one we've been wanting for over a decade.

..and... Now I have to start playing through Metroid Prime Trilogy again. I wish I had Dolphin set up so I could at least render out in 1080p. Would be glorious.
 
To further replicate the stunning musical direction of Other M, the two available music tracks on Pyrosphere will be 'complete silence' and 'cinematic wallpaper'.

The only track I remember was the MIDI orchestral version of Ridley's theme, which was okay but poorly mastered.

DKC:R's soundtrack is still a leap ahead of most of the spinoffs.

I remember Jungle Climber and Bongo Blast having some pretty neat music, I love that one BB song that's in Brawl for example.

The worst Metal Gear soundtrack would probably be the original's NES port, and Of Myths and Monsters was weaker than KI and Uprising musically. MOTHER is difficult to discern due to the series' brevity and overall quality, perhaps 3...? I think we can agree Ice Climber has the worst soundtrack in the Ice Climber series, though.

I agree on all parts but DK; I haven't played Jungle Climber, so I don't know if they fixed it, but I'm definitely nominating King of Swing. I'd also say:

Pokemon: XY (The only standout song I can remember is Lumiose City, and that's just because of how much you're in that area...)

Pikmin: 2, but this isn't because it's bad, it's just the weakest of the 3.

Animal Crossing: Wild World, because even thought it's probably the one I put the most time into, I can't remember any song from it.

I completely forgot about those games. Considering the soundtrack is the main thing I remember about a lot of average games, that means it probably was.

Phazon Suit looks so fine that it is NSFW. And I agree. My favorite suit in the Prime series. Second would probably be the Light Suit.

It is quite lovely.

I'm one of those weirdos that likes the Fully-corrupted PED suit best. It's like a more badass version of the Gravity Suit (which is another of my favorites)

I never really liked the Phazon Suit all that much, actually. It's okay, but the Dark Suit, Light Suit, Gravity Suit, Fusion Gravity Suit, Varia Suit and PED Suit are preferable.

For as much praise as I lavish on Metroid Prime 2, Metroid Prime 1 really knew how to make the already iconic Varia Suit look like a WICKED piece of kit. MP1 is the one game in the series where I get hype as fuck for a suit upgrade not because of what it does but because of how much additional swag the base character model gets with it. (Spider Ball)

Prime 2 attempts something similar with the Luminoth circuits and gates look when you get the Spider Ball but the effect is a bit more subdued than the crystalline effect going on in MP1.

Phazon Suit Morph Ball form is GOAT. And then the red streak that appears when using the Boost Ball move? Amazing.

PED suit is quite good as well. The team at Retro really did a good job with suit designs for Samus. Only one I don't really like is the Dark Suit cause it looks so clunky and big. Then the added Gravity Boost thing on the back isn't something I'm a fan of either.

I was never too fond of the base PED suit honestly. The suit didn't click and become high tier until after you were mostly Phazon corrupted and got the Hazard Shield attachments.

Phazon Suit = Light Suit > Gravity Suit/Varia Suit with Spider Ball > PED Suit at max corruption + Hazard Shields > Dark Suit with Gravity Boost & Spider Ball > Varia Suit w/o Spider Ball > Dark Suit > base PED Suit > Power Suit (never liked how lanky the Power Suit was in any incarnation lol)
