PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Ok, help me with these two questions:

- which Disgaea should I buy? (To play on the Vita!)

- I can get Soul Sacrifice for about less than half the price of Delta! Should I get it?

Did you guys ever feel like from having way too many games for way too many platforms, you can't just choose one and you end up spending days until you can decide which game you're gonna play next?

To answer that second question, essentially yes. Narrative and shared lore connection abound. Then you have the platforms of the unlocalised releases making it less feasible. And finally the sheer herculean effort of translating the games which have several phone books of lines. Thus no localisation (except the upcoming SC release).

Are the games just text heavy or is it well written as well?

Are the vita games as text heavy?

I'm not too well informed as I'm not really into the series but AFAIK there's a trilogy(PSP), then a duology (PSP, remade on Vita) and then another 3d one.

First two games of the trilogy are/are being localyzed.

I see, thank you for the info. I have tried a demo of one of the games and I liked it, but not being able to understand what's going on in an rpg imo isn't optimal in any way.

3, 'cause you can get a physical copy of it, it comes with all the DLC and some Vita-specific content/features, and it's a wee bit sharper and speedier than 1 & 2. Or get 4 next month when it comes out, since it's even sharper with the series' first HD sprites, and has imo, the best ensemble cast since Disgaea 1.

1 is still the most memorable and cool as far as characters goes, but the new stuff in every entry always compels me to go with them as games.

All the time, even though it's just Steam and Vita for me now.

What do I do?

I know that feeling and it became worse with Plus....
Just assign a number to each game and use a random number generator to decide :P

It was all wonderful, until the very last sentence. Welp.

But thanks, will keep an eye on them to see if they ever release a Vita 2k model.
:| The only consolation I can say, perhaps if you have a large enough microfiber cloth, you *may* be able to wrap it around the vita before you put it in the pouch, and that *may* give it just enough to keep it steady, buuuuuuut I dunno about that. If you can find one at a GS, or anywhere, take your Vita in with the cloth and see if they will let you test it. It's a 50/50 shot. And that is all based off the assumption of you having a good size MF cloth. There could be something else you could put in there, but that all depends on what materials you have, and if you'd want to go that route. It's a shame, too, since I really don't think there is another case quite like it. I know of other "All in Wonder" cases, but most are either much larger, or smaller, and don't quite have the exact same set up. I feel this case is perfect, except for those wanting a true hardshell case.

I haven't seen a 2k in person though...just in pics. It's not that much slimmer, right? It very well could still work for you. I'd still recommend checking it out, if you can. Here is a a very over priced link from amazon - PDP Pull and Go Folio. I paid 29.99 for mine, both times. Good luck!

That's why I didn't want to get PS+, I'd rather buy the games I want, but I needed the cloud saving to make proper room on my memory card.

Disagea get 4 when it comes out on Vita next month. 3 is alright but the weak link in the series IMO and doesn't have high res sprites, which 4 Vita does iirc.

Wait a month for Disgaea 4.
If you want one NOW, I'd recommend Disgaea 1 or 3 (2 isn't the best start for someone new to the series).
But the most handsome thing to do is to play all of them in order, of course.

20% slimmer, man. It's a f'n razor.
But, since it's not so competitively priced on amazon right now, I'll stick with my small case (with room for nothing else besides the Vita and a tiny cloth) for now.

Interesting. Now that I have a new phone I may give a try to more apps.

The old one had 350mb of Internal memory so I couldn't install anything. And it was slow as hell.

I know that feel. I have a LG L3 and, while it has 1 GB of iternal storage, I'm unable to use it for apps. I have to install them on the system storage, which has roughly 150mb available on start. Once Facebook, Whatsapp and a couple more apps are there, you can't install shit anymore

I had to uninstall and install Whatsapp everytime a new version launched because I hadn't enough storage to download + install updates (I guess it works like in PS3, where you need 2x the game file space or some other stupid rule). I wasn't able to install the new versions with 40mb left.

Yup I usually can't decide on a game. Huge backlog right now: Splinter Cell Blacklist, inFamous, Red Dead, Tomb Raider, LA Noire, BioShock Burial at Sea, Outlast, Arkham Origins, Far Cry 3, and more. And that's not even counting Vita or the games I'm replaying.

I can't imagine what Vitas are like with a 4GB memory card.

these android phone tend to wear out quickly and have serious downgrade quality after a year.

I'm going back and listing all games I own. There are many games I didn't even remember I owned. That could help you as well.

Sell everything? I dunno. I haven't found a solution either.

I sold every single PS3 game I owned last year, because of that, among other reasons. I can't do that again.

hahaha
hahahahahah

ha

That's every day for me. And I still want a PS4. On the bright side, once you do settle into a new game it feels a lot more special.

As my backlog increases in size, my interest in buying other platforms increases just the same. I bought a Wii U last week and already have seven games for it.

So is my Vita fucked? My system will keep saying battery life is low and turn off with the blinky battery sign even when its actually fully charged. I can't play anything for more than 2 minutes before my Vita decides its got no battery life even though its got plenty of juice. I can turn the system back on, it will even say the battery is at 50% or whatever initially and the it will proceed to flash down to red battery level and then "turn off" back into sleep.

I've tried pretty much everything to fix this, let it drain to 0 and fully charge it, factory reset, plugged it into different outlets, nothing is doing anything. Google tells me that this is sadly a common problem with no real solution other than pray for the best.

Really do not feel like paying whatever the fuck Sony is charging these days to fix an out of warranty Vita (got this sucker day 1 here in the states - FEB OG Vita). This sucks. Sigh.

Has anybody had this problem before and figured out a way to fix it?

I can't offer any experience on the issue regarding Vitas, but I had a similar issue with my old iPod Touch and I just cycled the battery and drained and charged it until it sorted itself out.

Other than that, you could look into ordering and replacing the battery. Its not a difficult process and the batteries themselves are not overly expensive.

This happened to me twice, so I know how annoying it is X( (owned my Vita for a year and a month).

The trick I used is do a factory reset (where you clean the database of your Vita) and when it fully boots back on, plug it into a different outlet. Keep trying until your Vita stops having the battery issue then it should be okay :). I don't know if that will work with your Vita, but I hope this helps.

Have you tried disassembling your Vita and removing the battery? I had my Vita go crazy with battery levels too, but I removed the battery and let it sit for a bit. Once I plugged it back in, I got normal battery life again.

It's a pretty simple process and you only need a Phillips head screwdriver. There's videos online if you want to see what you should do.

Man I am done with PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate. I had been powering through it, just to beat it, but I can't. The boss of level 5 requires 21 more diamonds for me to unlock. No way I'm going back through those levels again, to find one or two I've missed per stage. The game was really starting to get on my nerves. I can't go through that tediousness again. PJS, I bid the adieu.

that's disappointing.. I was planning to watch the animation after finishing the game

From the first episode, it's like new game+: the anime, so it skips over a bunch of stuff, like acknowledging the murders. If you're fine with Yu pretty much steamrolling the plot, you'll probably enjoy it. I know I am for that reason.
