NBA-gaf: is Cleveland any good? Does this make the team a contender now?

LeBron got Cleveland to the finals with a team that would have trouble riding the bench in any other year. Any team who gets the best player in the NBA will be a contender.

Man there's probably so much good quotes from the beginning of the Opt out thread. People were so confident of him staying.

Some Heat fans were clinging on to some beef about a ass old letter and tried to turn Gilbert into Sterling.

No PEACE to be found now, you be finding new avatar haha

I'm from Miami. It is my second home (I lived in NYC for 17 years). I can respect going back home, especially given the previous circumstances.

I'd like to see him win a championship in Cleveland.

Thank you for helping us win two more championships, Bron.

HEY PIMP, WHAT HAPPENED TO

Pat_Riley_gatsby_Maroko1.gif

LOLOL PEACE.

Before this thread gets out of hand. Someone plz fill me in.

I'm not a huge bball fan. The whole controversy in him going to Miami was that he was chasing rings that he was never gonna get in Cleveland. He won two and then ppll were saying the big 3 dynamic was losing its spark or whatever so i understand he'd want to leave and go somewhere else after losing to the spurs but why go back to cleveland? What changed? Aren't ohioans and shit still pissed?

Bob Marley - redemption song acustic:

Redemption Song

Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the 'and of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Cleveland be like.

The King in the North!

What is melo waiting for? he aint playing in Cleveland. And cavs just overpaid Kyrie, damn that's why you don't wait too long.

Someone summarize all this from A-Z for those who don't follow basketball, why is this significant?
As someone who follows some basketball, Lebrin was with the Cleveland for the majority of his career. He then went to play for the Heat because he was frustrated on not winning a championship. He was 2 championship in the next 4 years. Still not satisfied he decided to return to play for Cleveland for reasons (multiple #1 draft picks maybe? Young roster?).

If I'm Melo, I go to the Bulls, try to win now. CLE will be very good, but they're a young inexperienced squad outside of Lebron and a couple of hired hands who'll surely follow.

Thought he would take a short deal with Miami first to see where the Cavs would end up in a year or 2

Dont think they will even get there in year one but maybe down the road
