3ds. Should I?!

Been debating getting 3ds or 3ds xl. Which one should I get? Any recommendation for games? Also, do you honestly think its worth it?!

Really tempted to get it for the legend of zelda OoT 3d.
 
3DS is the jam. Get it. A bunch of games worth your time on it, I recommend A Link Between Worlds and Kid Icarus: Uprising.

3DS XL has slightly worse 3D sweetspot but the screen and buttons are infinitely more comfortable to bear.
 
I love my red XL, it's sleek, comfortable to hold, also has better battery life.

Get Kid Icarus uprising, FE:Awakening, Professor layton and Duel destinies and you're gold.

Gravy, aside from OoT what are you interested in? What games do you normally play?

Get the XL it is more comfortable.

Don't forget A Link between worlds. Great take on the Alttp formula and so much better than the DS Zeldas.
 
I didn't like the original 3DS because I felt the screen was too small(The games were great though). So then I upgraded to an XL and the large pixels distract me since I knew what it looked like before. Anyways, you should grab one if you're considering it. Great games.

Make sure to get Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem. Those two make this thing worth it alone imo.
 
Definitely. It has a great library in its own right, but it is also backwards compatible with the DS, which had a pretty incredible library.
 
No. It is an old, childish, and gimmicky system with under powered hardware and a cheap design. I have one, and the screen actually hurts my eyes due to how low res it is. If you actually walk around with it, you will look like an idiot, and there isn't much worth playing on it other than Nintendo games, which are both easy and highly repetitive. All of the networking features were designed for Japan and don't work well anywhere else unless you happen to know a large amount of people with 3DSes.

Just buy games on a smartphone, if you have one. They are cheaper, and playing games on a smartphone in public does not make you look like a loser. The Vita has better hardware, but has very few games worth playing, is too expensive, and has been practically abandoned by Sony. And of course, like the 3DS, it is embarrassing to play in public.

Basically, it isn't worth it.
 
For me personally it's been worth the 120 Euro I spent on the 3DS XL, I've played OOT 3D, ALBW, SM3DL, NSMB2 and I especially had a blast with the first 3. I still want to buy Luigi's Mansion 2 if I can find it for a fine price. But other than that, I really don't know what games I should buy. I am NOT very fond of turn based games, including Fire Emblem and other JRPG's, so in terms of quantity, in hindsight it wasn't extremely worth it for me. But in terms of quality, OOT 3D alone was what made me pull the trigger. And I'm not sorry I did.
 
Ace attorney, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, SMT devil survivor and Soul hackers are great. Bravely default is good sure the last half is utter shite but by the time you've reached that point you've already gotten your monies worth. MH 3U is good but I'd wait for 4U if your jumping in now since it has online. Plenty of great games on it.

So if the the question is is it worth the answer is do bears shit in the woods?
 
I mean, the only person who would know best is you. Are there games on the system you wish to play? Are there more than one or two games on the system that you really want? Between the Pokemon series, Zelda titles, Animal Crossing/Tomodachi Life, Fire Emblem, a nice selection of JRPGs and other genres there's plenty to play on the system. I'd recommend the XL easily over the OG as it feels much more solid.

The 3DS has the best gaming library of any dedicated platform right now. Of course you should.

The XL is the better one, and make sure not to get an EU one if any Atlus game or Rune Factory 4 look like something you would enjoy.

XL is nice because the screen is bigger and I don't see any problems visually.
You get a slightly longer battery life too but its pretty hard to carry around unless you drop it in your bag.

3DS is more pocket sized/tolerable.

It is worth it in every way, OP. Get an XL, I cannot even imagine why anyone would get an OG one just to save ~30 bucks.

I just checked the Amazon price difference for XL and original 3DS (I got my Zelda XL during that awesome Target promotion) and the Aqua Blue original is even more expensive than the blue XL. What is this

Most of this is nonsense. Well, I get what you're saying about streetpass, but the relay points have made an enormous difference.
