im curious about this
From what i could check, its a first person horror game with bad graphics, but its made by only one guy.

The idea of buying an horror game without any info sounds lovely, but i saw a short trailer and felt a little let down...

I could buy it out of the blue, if it had a good price. The lack of horror games in the current industry is killing me. Yesterday i was drooling over some old DarkSeed screens

edit: looks like its 1,99. Only way i could find the game on eshop was by the miiverse community link

A friend played because he is a game journalist and he said that he LITERALY finished the game in 5 minutes

Oh my god that game, The Letter. I still can't believe that a 6 minute video includes booting the game from the WiiU menu, all the loading screens and the endings/credits. This might be the best thing ever.

But seriously WTF is it that easy to publish a game on a Nintendo console now? How can I guy like this get his hands on a SDK?!

A random thing about Pullblox (Pushmo? never heard of 'im). I find myself loving and hating the fact that you have to unlock the skip level option (shows up after x minutes of being stuck). I usually find myself wanting to skip a puzzle I am stuck on but end up figuring out the solution before I notice the skip option unlocking.

Maybe I am just a bit impatient...

Yeah, I was definitely recommend trying to hold off and not skip puzzles as much as possible. Sometimes it just helps to go back to one later. The learning curve is pretty on-point and the game is often teaching you new techniques and subtle mechanics so skipping a puzzle can sometimes be to your detriment in terms of being able to do later puzzles more easily.

Is this for real? Good job curating, NoA, lol.

Maybe you guys are being too hard on this The Letter fellow. Perhaps it's an ARG and part of the experience is beating the game in 5 minutes, then maybe he mails you a real letter or something to continue the game.

That would be actually creepy so not really in line with the game. :p

Nintendo advertised the eShop and a few indie games on the Evo 2014 Twitch stream a few minutes ago. The video showed Scram Kitty, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and 1001 Spikes.

SKAHBOR is wildly under-appreciated. I see it topping "under-appreciated games of last gen" lists in five years, no question.

They do. The facility is there. Only one dev so far has made use of it though. In this case, it would be up to Yacht Games not Nintendo.

So far only NoE offers cross buy. NoA doesn't do it yet (or maybe ever?)

The Squids Odyssey developer said that Nintendo of America “could not support this operation yet,”

“We did ask [Nintendo of America],” a spokesperson for The Game Bakers told Siliconera. “We really like this promotion and wished to make it happen for all gamers, but NOA could not support this kind of promotion.”

And with NoE it's only cross buy 1 way. Buy the 3DS version get the Wii U version. You can't buy the Wii U version and get the 3DS version.

Since Shovel Knight isn't out on NoE regions yet, Yacht Club Games can't offer any sort of cross buy yet even if they want to in NoA regions.

Is there already a video on YT? I couldn't see it, Twitch wasn't working for me >_>

So, is Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call a remake of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy with extra content, kind of like Dissidia 012? I played the hell out of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, so I'm wondering if I should get Curtain Call.

Imagine if Shovel Knight is crossbuy in Europe, all my salt

At the very least it seems like all the songs in the original Theathrhythm are in Curtain Call along with extra content. Not sure how Dissidia 012 was to compare though.

It's probably the commercial that was shown to EVO.

They show commercials at EVO?

Hmm, I'll have to ask someone after it gets released!

Might just throw my money at Squeenix anyway. They need to keep localizing FF spin-offs.

Guys.

Guys.

It finally happened. After trying many times and failing miserably, Monster Hunter finally grew on me. Don't know what has changed, but suddenly I started to like the game. Goodbye, life.

I bought the WiiU version when it was on sale a while back, but haven't put more than maybe 30 minutes into it yet.

I probably should give it more of a try one of these days.

Playing through SP or online MP?

SP, still on the beginning of the game. I tried many times to like the game but I always gave up. This time I tried harder, did more quests and the game started to grow on me.

It was because of the Wii U version that I started to like it more. Then I tried the 3DS version that I already had (but was just getting dust) and even without the CPP I managed to like it.

I know that the water levels will make me wanna throw the 3DS away, but I think that when I get there I'll manage to buy a CPP, eventually.

Would you say that you like the WiiU or 3DS one more?

What would it take for Enix to acknowledge and re-release their SNES games?

I mean, I already own and love EVO, but I don't think regular people should have to pay $150 just to try it out.

I just want the Dragon Quest games on 3DS VC.

I mean, I already own them for NES, the GBC ports, and the DS remakes...
But, I would love to have the originals all available to access any time on my 3DS.

And the Square side of things need to get on things and put the Final Fantasy games up there too.

Would you say that you like the WiiU or 3DS one more?

Right now it is kinda hard to choose one, I love the portability of the 3DS but the 2 analogs on the Wii U give me much better control over my character. I would say that now I like the Wii U version a little bit more, but only because I don't have the CPP. But I think that it might just be the transition to one analog and the d-pad, maybe I'll change my mind with more practice. I'll keep you guys posted of my impressions.

I still waiting for Square Enix to re-release the Soul Blazer "trilogy" on VC. Third game never came out in US, and Soul Blazer itself I have on cart, but battery is fickle. Really want that on digital. :(

Replacing batteries in cartridges (well, aside from portable cartridges, since there's less space to work with) is pretty easy. I had no problem with it at all, even with no previous experience with soldering.

When I've replaced batteries, I've done it with a battery in a battery holder too, so next time they need to be replaced, there's no soldering involved - just pop out the old battery, and pop the new one in.

As I said, I recommend using battery holders when replacing the batteries. Solder the holder to the tabs, and just pop the battery into the holder.

Advantages:
1) No having to apply solder to the battery (heat and batteries are a dangerous mix)
2) Makes replacing them again in the future a snap (literally!)
3) No build-up of soldering gunk and broken metal and whatnot from repeated replacements over time
4) Did I mention not getting burnt by exploding battery acid? Since, that's pretty nifty.
