Nate the Hate: Nintendo Direct planned for end of July

I can't wait for a direct but would love it not to be this week just to show how much bullshit these so called insider have, if it was next week people would jump to them and say oh it only one week

they could do a drop without an announcement, I think they did that already this year, can't remember. maybe for the Switch 1 direct?

Where is the Direct?

WHERE IS IT?

What I just love about Nintendo fanboys/apologists is how they keep saying Nintendo is doing the right thing and that it's a smart move to keep their lineup in the dark until the last second—every time someone tries to criticize them—while they're anxiously waiting 24/7 for something to pop up.

Imagine being excited for new software from one of the best development houses in the business.

What a disingenuous take. It was the same for E3 back in the day. 10/10 on the mental gymnastics though. 👍

Let me introduce you to the GTA subreddit.

doesn't that mean it's working tho? people are constantly awaiting the announcement of a direct, because in those, games will be revealed that will release relatively soon.
and by the time they are out, the cycle starts again.

a constant state of looking forward to announcements that are happening at a relatively steady pace.

Is it too much to hope for a Metroid Prime 4 release date and a stealth drop of 2 & 3 on the eShop?

Given how long ago Prime 3 was released, it seems like they would almost need to re-release 2 and 3 before 4, doesn't it?
The conspiracy theorist in me says they decided to delay announcing Metroid Prime 2 and 3 until Switch 2 dropped so that they could include/announce mouse controls for both games as well as 4k/60fps support

it's really not that big of a deal man

So, there was another entry at Reddit where someone was saying that some games in the eshop which were without release date have been updated for a Thursday release so they are guessing the direct is on Thursday.

You don't blow your load all at once. Patience.

Not sure what you're talking about. Show me one person who says that?

On top of that, the Switch 2 just launched last month. DK Bananza is less than two weeks old. There is a new Metroid game coming this year (we think), and a new Pokemon for those that are into that sort of thing. There are plenty of games to play and the thing. just came out. Such bizarre commentary around this platform.

Ah yes, a 'steady pace' so steady that no one actually knows when anything is going to happen—hence why, just this month alone, the boards are drowning in desperate Direct rumors. Truly the pinnacle of strategic communication.

We know what's coming next month, but the rest of 2025 is a mystery. Nintendo needs titles to populate its new system, but also needs to let its current titles breath. It's a tricky balance, but nintendo has more experience with systems and first party titles selling them than any other company. If anyone knows how to dripfeed content, it's nintendo. They are known for strong launch titles as well as titles late in a system's life that revitalize it.

It's almost as if people are excited to play good games. Crazy huh?

Absolutely, Nintendo has mastered the art of spacing out content—but let's not pretend Mario Kart World or Donkey Kong Bananza are so fragile that a future announcement might suddenly make them irrelevant. These are games with serious staying power, not impulse buys that evaporate in a week.

If anything, announcing what's ahead only builds momentum, not kills it. Acting like new titles would somehow suffocate current ones underestimates both Nintendo's catalog and its audience. It's not a zero-sum game—and Nintendo knows that better than anyone.

I can tell that Nintendo fanboys have upset you in the past because instead of criticizing Nintendo directly you posted this passive-aggressive comment.

So when is the direct?
