Dunno, world cup tends to bring out the worst in hair styles. There have been some atrocious ones over the years. Baggios mullet with rat tail springs to mind. Numerous, numerous mullets etc.

He was one of the best strikers this tournament. That rush against Spain is the stuff of legends. He was amazing this tournament and he should have been rewarded for it. I mean, he was just to fast this WC. His legs last night proved he got manhandled this tournament.

Pitty prize or not. This tournament. Messi certainly wasn't the best.
It's like FIFA decided beforehand that he would win. Even Messi himself seemed unhappy with it.
 
People ignore that Messi has had possibly the greatest midfield of all time supporting him all his career. Take out Xavi and Iniesta and you have National team Messi.

Still one of the greats but he isn't in the same league as Pele, Maradona and Zidane for me.

Maradona didn't score in the final, he had a very quiet final. His teammates scored all 3 goals in the final.

So you're telling me if higuain and Palacio scored their chances right in front of goal, then messi would be goat?

at least Maradona could pass the ball to Valdano and Burruchaga who could actually score.

Higuain and Palacio blew two amazing chances in a really poor way. Switch them with those I mentioned above and I doubt Argentina would have won the 1986 cup

He does go down a lot. I see other players making fast runs that don't go down after being hit.

Even though he technically didn't dive a lot (and that means, dropping down when not being hit at all), it wouldn't sit well with me if he won the prize.

Yeah, he done right not even looking at any one of his teammates' faces instead of trying to get them together and be supportive. He done right ignoring everyone. Ok then.
 
I'm not an expert, but anytime Messi had the ball I was afraid of Argentina scoring a goal. Every single time. Trophy seems fitting.
