Germany made a shocking recovery from the start of the match. Completely pulled themselves together, even when tired.
Argentina traditionally gets tired, so I was expecting that, and our subs were terrible (Aguero's been shit the entire cup). We needed to score with that early offense, and when we didn't we got even more tired than we were against the Netherlands.

Honestly, the game was titanic. Those injuries alone, with Khedira out before the match even started. Then Kramer totally living up to it and getting knocked out, too. Messi's scary run at the beginning. And those horrible mistakes when the players got out of strength. Invincible Schweinsteiger. And a beautiful goal.

It's obviously difficult to Messi play like he normally do when the best national squads in the World are doing everything they can to neutralize him. Everytime he has the ball near the area there are at least two players ready to block him. It's tough to play nowadays. But when you have Higuain, Aguero and Palacio losing all the good chances that results due to this special marking, you can't do really anything.
Even with that, he decided the match against Switzerland giving the pass to Di María, started the move that result in Higuain's goal against Belgium. Argentina wouldn't be at this final if wasn't Messi.
Not saying he deserved the Golden Ball, I'd have chosen Robben, but I understand their choice.
