As mentioned, you can't check if any other tweets have been deleted. He could have posted "Germany wins 1-0", "Germany wins 2-0", "Germany wins 3-0", "Germany loses 0-1", etc. and than delete all of them except the correct one.

It wasn't the fucking time or place for him to be high-fiving fans. If you had a shred of context, and had the ability to put yourself in his shoes, or that of his team-mates, or ANYONE watching on TV for that matter, you would agree. It would look horrible, and most people would have NOT appreciated that site. Unfortunately, you don't have that basic ability, so would prefer to call Messi an "asshole" because you can't see 2 feet in front of your own nose.

Messi is still pretty much the GOAT despite today's game. He hasn't been the same since he got injured before Xmas, whether it's physical or in his head I dunno.

However, when he's been at his best there is no one that has ever come close. The very definition of unplayable.

Anyway, great game. The Germans were the best team since the start of the tournament and deserved the victory. Great country, great fans, great team.

TBF the player scoring and extra time prediction were impressive even with picking a lot of permutations the chances are low.

Brazil is in it's worst shape since 1990. Not sure about Argentina as I don't follow their squad regularly, but I don't think they are bad at all.

Pretty funny to see people changing alliances just to see their new team lose and people calling thugs many teams.

A record-breaking World Cup. First time an European team gets the cup in South America, Brazil with their defeat. Colombia and Costa Rica reaching quarters for the first time in their history. GAF crumbling down.

Second, Argentina made it to the finals and gave Germany a good match. Do you remember what happened four years ago?

well, it's hard winning the WC title if you only score two goals in the final stage.

But I think Argentina should have tried everything to use the fact that Germany were forced to change the tactics twice because of Khedira and Kramer in the first half.
After Germany got their shit together there was obvious that the concept Messi wasn't enough to win the match.

Argentina lost a lot of opportunities in the first half of the match and was looking better than Germany for a long time there. They're not a bad squad. They could've easily scored at the end too.

Unless you're saying Germany is a poor side too.

Going forward, certainly. Di Maria is great, but wasteful. Aguero is the same (and played poorly). Neither are havens of creativity anyway. Look who else was picked. Mascherano, Gago, Biglia, Perez... none of them have creativity even approaching the likes of Veron

Defence is great, but Messi is expected to create all the attacks and finish all the attacks because the midfield can't do either and the attack can barely do either. Higuain is one of the most overrated overpriced footballers in the game today.

Anyways, losing this surely puts a damper on his GOAT status. He is no where close to Pele, I stil think he's better than Maradona for the most part but without a World Cup win it's a tough situation.

love how the brazilians are celebrating our loss haha, yet they seem to forget we gave germany a hard time and they lost 7-1, 3-0, and ended fourth place.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I'll assume it's my fault.

What I was trying to say is in decisive matches like this one, overall, Maradona and Pelé showed they were truly the best of the best and both were able to turn around matches by themselves. Messi, a lot of times with his national team fails at that.

Why do you think everyone still loves Maradona (despite his flaws as a person) and so many argentinians shit on Messi (who doesn't have any Maradona's personal flaws)?

I do really believe Messi is actually the world's best player, but compared to Maradona and Pelé, he is a couple of steps lower than them, and that couple of steps is what makes the difference in matches like this one, when everyone expect that you pull off that magic that changes how the story ends.
