Neuer is a cunt but his tournament was perfect. I can't remember a single mistake by him and he's has been good in every match. The best German player - Hummels was weak today, Kroos disappointed, too; Müller had no bad match but some were only decent - so give him the golden ball thing. Messi was good but not good enough.

Still disappointed Großkreutz wasn't subbed. He was ready and everything, waiting to come on the pitch :( I bet Draxler feels 10x more World Championly than him, because he played like seven minutes.

Ihh, eine Zecke.

I mean I'm happy that we won the world cup today, but I'll keep an eye on you.

Well, since this WC is over and I'll be out of the city for several days without internet access, this will be my last post here:

GREAT WC!!!! and very interesting/funny threads with lots of great debate and heated moments.

Again, congrats to Germany GAF :)

Hope to see you guys next time :D

They need to fix all the diving in this sport, but other than that I really enjoyed this World Cup.

Grats Germany, it was a good game.

This is my fav kit of the WC because;
1. 7-1, come on.
2. Germany kit.
3. 7-1, yes.
4. It's just so dominating.
5. Even though the whites are nostalgic, this is refreshing.

The difference is, Bayern and alot of clubs build up the foundation of financial sucess.
Allthough there are some clubs like Hoffenheim,Wolfsburg and Leverkusen who're avoiding it.

Dortmund for example was on the verge of bankruptcy, they were lucky and worked hard and developed their own players, plus had a pretty good scouting that got alot of talented players for a decent price.
They've developed a team that could rival someone like Bayern with hard work.

The Bundesliga isn't like the English Premier League where someone with money just walks in and buys a club and keeps it as toy.

Of course it's also coming down to money, but football in general is going the way of commercialization.
That goes for the national team as well, you don't even wanna know how much money the DFB makes by all the commercials or products that have the national team on them.

And while I agree that the atmosphere among the national games is far more friendly, the atmosphere in the clubs is just a total difference.
You'll never see awesome choreographies that club fans are doing, neither the atmosphere and the chants.
It's on a whole different level :)

Well, as long as you keep watching football and enjoy it, it's fine :>

I keep my answer short since I should be sleeping already though I appreciate the discussion :) I loosely heard about the development of Dortmund and I really like that they manage to constantly rival Bayern more with hard work than anything and if I'm honest I feel like Klopp is one of the most sympathetic coaches I've ever saw, he just seems so honest and down to earth, like a regular you-and-me guy :P The thing with Hoffenheim was really baffling, I heard of it and I followed football even less during that time. Also I know that football heads more and more into commercialization and I really don't want to know how much the DFB makes though yeah... for some reason I feel it much more in club football than during national football though I don't doubt you and I had no idea other leagues have it even worse. That's a bummer :/

I didn't even think of that but you are right, I guess dedicated club fans really can make a difference to the rather generic fan-factor during national cups, I guess it really comes down to me never being able to identify with a club even though most of my family was and still is a Dortmund fan D: But yeah I will try, I just wish ARD or ZDF would atleast broadcast one randomly selected club-match in a week so I could atleast somewhat follow things live but oh well :( Good night FootballGAF for today! :)

Yeah sadly most matches are bound to PayTV.

You can still see the beginning of the season and the first match after the winter break.
Plus international matches are shown via ARD/ZDF.
It's not always Dortmund they're showing, but it's still alot of fun.

And don't forget the german cup.
It's magical where really small clubs have a chance to suprise the big teams and throw them out of the cup, which really happens quite often.
Those matches are also shown on ARD/ZDF.

Is there a way to keep track of German clubs in the US? Or is the only option PayTV? I was wondering if ESPN covered the games at all.

Sorry I don't know about the US.
Allthough I heard from many BVB fans that there were some sports bars in NY for example, who had the games running.

Maybe you can watch it via ESPN.

Or maybe someone else here knows how you can watch the Bundesliga (name of the league) in the US.

Absolutely great World Cup.

It really had everything: lots of goals --some of which were spectacular and beautiful, upsets, complete failures, player drama, records being broken, great performances, and on top of all, a magnificent and unbelievably talented team which ended up as fair champion. I enjoyed it a lot.

So.. the FIFA ideal team:

Manuel Neuer
Thiago Silva
Stefan de Vrij
David Luiz
Mats Hummels
Toni Kroos
Óscar
James Rodríguez
Wesley Sneijder
Karim Benzema
Arjen Robben.

Where's the Golden Ball?? LOL

I knew Germany could do it, they were one of the teams in this WC that truly played like a team and didn't rely on a few star players. US was actually very similar, but less skilled.

Brazil riots were pretty standard. Argentina riots are way more hardcore.

its a shame, their song was really catchy and they seem good sports for a while, but a loss, and bullying from brazilians, + alcohol, causes that.

Really? David Luiz? Sneijder? Benzema? Oscar? Over a third of your choices are pure garbage.

Mascherano and Messi obviously belong on there from Argentina.

group stage messi maybe. Knockout stage Mascherano for sure. I was almost sure he would win the "consolation ball" but Adidas being Adidas

Not Mine. Is the FIFA official ideal team. And it makes even less sense since the golden ball they chose isn't even there.
