Can't wait for Max to put a bunch of KI moments before SF4 or BB finals in his inevitable EVO 2014 Hype Moments video.
IIRC he said he's doing a top 5 for each game individually.

First ever EU EVO champ, and thoroughly deserved.
It's already faster than Brawl, so that helps. It doesn't have to be Melee fast or faster to be good. The main gripe with the E3/Best Buy build is the landing lag & the large amount of recovery frames.
As a Rose user, that's my first thought, but there's really nothing to worry about. They finally buffed her to where she's competitive, but not unfair, imho. Luffy won by playing out of his mind.
What was the next lowest-finishing Rose?
It makes me happy to see a character loyalist win Evo.
Rose isn't gonna get nerfed just because a bunch of people are going to flood online. She isn't OP, she's been strictly mid-tier at best even with the Ultra buffs. Like Kadey said, it was a Louffy-only affair, it's not anything about her character specifically that'd warrant nerfing.
Character loyalists > Tier list whores. Just look at the top 8.

If I remember right, last year Luffy lost to Xian twice, once in winners, and once in losers, just before top 8.
I don't want to seem like I'm taking away from Louffy's win. But winning EVO also involves a lot of luck. Sure the guys he took out were real good, but he's also fortunate to avoid some of his worse match ups like Gamerbee who got knocked out before top 8, Ricky who got taken out by Snake Eyez, and Poongko who probably was sitting at home watching this like us. Tokido use to beat him all the time, but DWU was probably a game changer in their match up. His run was amazing, but with a game like SF4 that is match up heavy now, luck is also a factor.
Well Filipinoman did well.. Not OP but come on.. Mid Tier? I doubt that now tbh..
It's been a month

The Justin Wong win at EVO makes it so that there were unique characters.players in all of the EVO winners for UMVC3.
EVO#1: Viscant w/ Wesker/Haggar/Phoenix
EVO#2: FChamp w/ Magneto/Dormammu/Doom
EVO#3: Flocker w/ Zero/Vergil/Hawkeye
EVO#4: Justin w/ Wolverine/Storm/Akuma
Next EVO Yipes or Nemo have to win to keep the pattern going!
Well it's tough. I don't think anyone really scrutinized Rose's buffs all that closely since up until this weekend nobody really cared about her. Maybe now that she's in the spotlight people are going pick apart the buffs and maybe it'll surface that she is, indeed, OP. But at the very least before Ultra she was mid-tier.
Namco is working with them so it should be okay. And so what the game is slower it can still be good. Just give it a chance.
this is sooo true. I allways just rewatch matches just after EVO because i miss it BibleThump
Nah, he lost to xian in a close set (the closest actually to take xian down that year) and then he got blown up by wolfkrone.
Louffy must be a god in order to hit those 1-frame links on a pad.

And Xian didn't face Daigo (who he lost to 10-0 like a month after) or Infiltration last year. It happens. Doesn't change anything though. You could say the same for anyone who wins this thing.

Eh, I'm not so sure - the devs who were assigned to work on Smash Brawl were apparently avid Melee fans themselves, but in the end Sakurai had insisted on the slower play, tripping and the movement towards casual play. Devs can't do much if it goes against Sakurai's vision.
For those of you(seriously) asking how to use PS1 pads use an PS2PC adapter.

Was he doing 1-frame links often? As a Street Fighter noob, 1-frame links make me afraid to try the game.

Man, his blatant P4A omission last year stung. Can't wait for Max to put a bunch of KI moments before SF4 or BB finals in his inevitable EVO 2014 Hype Moments video.
Didnt stop a whole bunch of people from abandoning various ships

Rose's meter gain via fireball absorb is ridiculously OP. She gains half a bar per absorb and completely destroys the zoning game of fireball characters. Louffy had Super like 90% of the time fighting Bonchan.
Shit is stupid.
This converter works on the 360?
I'm depressed after every EVO.
