To end on a positive note: see you guys in 4 years in Russia, or in 2 years in France if you watch the UEFA Euro Cup as well.

It's been a fun ride!

I've puked during a game. i never took drugs.

I'd be shocked if the vast majority of top footballers didn't dope. Not just stuff like EPO, but also things like blood transfusions can provide incredibly big advantages during packed playing schedules and long seasons, and doping checks in football are laughable.

Is there a gif of Löw smiling?

We already got the cup, let's not ask for the impossible.

That Müller video is fucking amazing btw, such an awesome guy

You guys are too hard on him

Congrats to Germany, well deserved win :D
Right after the Gotze goal, he's smiling (not celebrating) and resisting that urge to have a booger snack. You can see he's waiting for the cameras to roll of him so he can get it in ..

:D
They didn't catch him even once, he had his hands in his pockets pretty much all the time.

wake up, filling shitty, slight headache, thinking of the fucking lectures I have to go to... realize we're world champions.

Haha fuck you man I had to get up for work at 6am. Do you know what 2hrs of sleep are? Not nearly enough.

But you're right: Feels good man

How about that CL-dedicated thread suggested a couple of pages back? Or maybe for example Euro 2016 qualifying stage thread?

I mean, I'd love to discuss some games once in a while but the Community thread is incredibly overwhelming and I'm completely disinterested in national leagues tbh.

To be fair to Messi, he did win most MOTM awards during the cup. That should make him objectively MOTC.

Messi 4x
Robben 3x
James 3x
Navas 2x
Neymar 2x
Muller 2x
Gotze 2x

Though of course that was also because most of Argentina's matches were pretty dire, and people just selected Messi by default.

I wonder if Schweinsteiger will keep a small scar from his quick & dirty stitches... that would be one to show his grandchildren.

The Golden Generation got their cup.

And I can't believe that 7 Bayern players were on the pitch at the end. 7.

Götze learned everything from Borussia Dortmund. Hope he doesn't regret it going to BM (i wish him onl the best). I still think a team with less fierce competition for a regular place and more playtime for him, would fit him better. But he's still young and making big $$$ early is surely something nobody would say no.

Sad to see it all over now. The Euros and the WC are the only time I actually give a damn about football. Watched every WC since Italy 90 (tho for some reason the only memory I have of USA 94 was coming home from town one day after buying a copy of Leisure Suit Larry and watching a game), but I love the WC. And this was easily the most enjoyable one I can remember since France 98. Sure the matches got a bit 'safer' after the group stages but there was quality football on display, some great games, some controversy with Suarez' bite, and some absolute shock with the 7-1 scoreline...so all in all some great memories. Glad to see Germany win it, they really deserved it.

And Hummels learned everything from Bayern :P

...Messi did not deserve the Golden Ball. Messi is Adidas' marquee player. Normally the award is decided by a media vote; this one was not.

So the FIFA Golden Ball, sponsored by Adidas, went to Lionel Messi, sponsored by Adidas. #ARG #FCB #WorldCup

That solves that mystery

Getting sick of the English press and their fawning over everything German. Enough already.

Well, since your team doesn't deliver they need another darling to cheer on. And what I've read this morning on bbc.com and theguardian.com didn't seem like "fawning over everything German" to me. They made the correct observation that the massive changes in youth training, tactics etc. made by the German FA ten years ago and the readiness of German players to stay in Germany and as result play together a lot more often than National Players of other nations in other leagues led to this World Cup. They also correctly observed that England needs to make similarily drastic changes as well.

Where did you see "fawning over everything German" ?
