2) Lucina is definitely a clone of Marth. Look at her animations. They're 1:1.

Ah, watching it again, you're right about the moves. But I'm fine with this. Lucina is my favorite Fire Emblem character, it's insane we're getting her over Chrom, insane in the best way.

They try to make the intro part of the trailer fit the game the character comes from. That's why they had an anime cutscene for Palutena and used the same style of CG used in Fire Emblem Awakening for Robin.

Ah gotcha. Yeah I remember the Palutena one, I just assumed that was a one off. Its awesome how much effort they put into these trailers. Love it.

Part of me is ridiculously relieved that the Gematsu leak has been proven wrong.

I don't think wrong. Just misled. I'm suspecting they helped or know people helping with the trailers and that the cutscenes are made a head of time, so perhaps he found that Chrom was in one of the trailers and figured he must've been a playable character.

So, how the hell did the leak get WFT and specifically "Mii Fighters" but screw up on Chrom , and screw up on Shulk being tonight?

They clearly know some things, but seem to also have false information. Exciting, actually, haha

The original leak before Gematsu had Pac-Man, Villager, Little Mac, WFT, Mii, and Mega Man... and nothing else. The Gematsu leak always seemed fishy to me. The only things it got right so far other than the ones they copied from the pervious leak were either obvious (Palutena) or vague (Pokemon X/Y character). It's possible that the leak is true and just has some bad info, but right now I'm leaving toward it being unreliable at best.

I'm pretty happy right now. I've definitely wanted the magic system from FE to get some kind of representation, and here we are!

Look, I would have liked Shulk too, and he's definitely not out of the running yet. But the important thing is that we still have the element of surprise. This whole videos not only throws the leak out the window, but also a ton of the supposed "rules" people like to throw out when talking about who will be added and who won't.

Plus, I got Captain Falcon and video footage of Ike. I'm on cloud nine over here.

Lucina is not al alt, she is a separate character, though she might be a clone.

At least Lucina fighting like Marth makes some game-related sense, unlike Ganodorf being a Falcon clone.

I didn't see any non-Marth moves there. So she's either a pretty direct clone with some different move properties or an alt-skin. Either one is fine but I'd maybe actually prefer that she was an alt-skin because I'd prefer to play as her and if Marth remains good that means she'd be good. Rather have that than have the Melee situation where Roy just doesn't hold up.

Lucina wouldn't have gotten in if she wasn't a clone of Marth. It's that simple. I wonder how her moves differ, considering that I doubt they would go the Roy route (it makes little sense). She's probably going to be more like a Falco or Ganondorf clone in Melee. I'm fine with that because it's just adding to the roster.

Seems to me that Lucina is probably just a fancy Marth skin. She has all of his animations and everything in the trailer. Guess we'll see what the official site has to say? If I can get it to load that is...

Well even if she ends up a Marth clone, if you played the game then you'd know precisely why.
