Lucina, Robin AND FEMALE ROBIN, & Captain Falcon Are Today's Smash Newcomers!

Doesn't everyone have feet? I mean, what exactly do you mean?

The characters didn't have feet in-game in Awakening.

The biggest issue people have against snake is his lack of Nintendo history compared to others. Regardless that he was in brawl and like you said easily one of the most unique characters to play.

Yeah, I never got that complain. Anyways, the most important thing that Snake brings is Metal Gear representation. Snake being gone doesn't bother me as much as losing Metal Gear in its entirety from Smash. The more the merrier.

No way, Morgan with armsthrift and aversa's tome is the most broken thing the game just like Sorcerer Lucina with armsthrift and Aversa's tome is the most broken thing in the game.

But marrying Chrom with Robin would mean no Rightful King Inigo. And that's a world I don't want to live in.

Actually its bad video games.

If their other media is any indication, other characters is why alot of people buy it. But not getting into that here.

I'm pretty sure you and I had this conversation, before. I will say it's not inherently "extra characters", but the decisions around those bad games with new characters, in it.

Semantics.

Silver is a fucking horrible character.

So, is it confirmed that Lucina is a Cline of Marry? Having the same forward B is pretty damning.

Love the new characters BTW. I always thought that Fire Emblem needed a mage rep.

What this announcement does do for me is it shines a spotlight I feel on how limited and small the Metroid series is when you look at it. The most well known characters are Samus and Ridley. That's damn sad for a series that has been around for as long as it has and has had as many games as it has had. 8 games I believe and the only playable character we have is Samus!? Even when they introduced new hunters in Metroid Prime 3 they just ended up being bosses. It really does say to me that if Metroid is to grow and become more popular it has to move away from being a Samus only franchise. They need to make new games set in the universe that don't star her. Perhaps another female and/or male character.

Edit:

I don't mean add more characters to games with Samus. I mean more characters in general. Not every game has to star Samus. Nor does every game in the world/series has to be the same. They can branch out more to have different types of games and characters. Similar to the Mario games. They don't all star Mario. Different characters have different types of games they star in as well.

So wow, we have 36 characters already! If Falco, Ganondorf, Ice Climbers, Jigglypuff, Lucas, Meta Knight, Mr. Game & Watch, Ness, R.O.B., Snake, Wario, and Wolf are returning from Brawl, that's already 48 characters, way more than Brawl's 39, and that's without a single additional newcomer, and there's no way they're not hiding more from us.

For real, this is all so amazing

If this had been shown at E3, alongside everything else, I'd be at the bottom of a crater right now

I think this reveal has gotten me the most pumped for the game out of any of them so far. I really didn't think Lucina and Robin would get in over Chrom.

I will not argue this.

LMFAO

Because Nintendo doesn't just have a collection of great female characters that lend themselves well to fights and fans have wanted to see more from them over the years especially as the Smash cast got larger. No, it just has to be "because feminism".

You're crazy. Furthermore, Chrom was the worst choice they could have went with assuming the next FE character inclusion after Marth/Ike was the last one.

Not to mention that the majority of the playable roster is still male, without counting characters that can be both genders or who's gender is ambiguous. Anyone complaining about there being too many woman, or whatever, is being silly.

Lucina being a clone of Marth gives me hope for a Palutena-clone Medusa.

Well, to be fair, the entire theme of Metroid is isolation...

Lucina over Chrom why?

Lucina and Marth shared animations in Awakening, and seem to share them here too (and they were based on NES/SNES Marth's old animatinos, so it wasn't just a matter of guest Marth reusing Lucina's model).

Chrom would need to be his own character. I think he actually lost his position to Robin if anything, who has much better moveset potential for an unique Awakening character.

One of the series best attributes is the feeling of isolation. Samus needs a partner about as much as Doom guy needs a partner.

I don't get why people are honing in on the Sonic thing, I just mentioned it wouldn't be bad, there was about 8 other franchises that I said could use more characters.

Here are all characters I'd rather see than the added Fire Emblem characters:

Zelda - Skullkid, Ganon (non-cloned edition), Demise, maybe Midna
Metroid - Ridley, maybe Kraid
Donkey Kong - King K. Rool, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong
F-Zero - Samurai Goroh, maybe Black Shadow
Super Mario RPG - Geno
Star Fox - Peppy or Slippy
Kingdom Hearts - Sora
Advance Wars - Andy
Metal Gear - Snake

All would be pretty cool in my book.
