Captain Falcon - Awesome but obvious he would be there

Lucina- Really happy she got in over Chrom (sort of)

Robin- Isaac's name in the Japanese version of Golden Sun is Robin, so as I quickly read the thread title my hype sky rocketed before crashing back down. Cool to have a mage but if they were gonna put in another FE character there would be literally dozens I would choose before him/her.

I'm ready for some hype Awakening music. I get why they used the iconic Fire Emblem stage theme for the reveal--people who hadn't played Awakening might not have made the connection otherwise--but Awakening has so many good pieces.
 
I wonder if at some point Chrom was supposed to be playable and then they cut him. That would explain the leak's mistake.

I am REALLY late, just saw the news.

Lucina is marth but without the added properties, that marth has, when hitting with the tip of the sworm.

Marth sword attacks have a different effect (the blue effect when you use a sword attack) at the tip of the sworm, so the player can see with what part of the sword he has to hit the oponent with to get the tip properties (at the tip of the sword the colour is different, clearer if i remember correctly). So, marth sword attacks have two effects: one from the begining of the sword to the tip, and another one on the tip.

Lucina only has one effect (same blue colour effect from the begining of the sword to the tip).

edit: so no one has an opinion about this, can this be or not!?
 
Chrom starts off that final smash with what looks like Ike's Brawl side-B move. I wonder if he was going to be an alt-Ike at some point during development.

Captain Falco looks great, and Sakurai is such a jerk with that trolling.
Really don't like Robin's inclusion. Doesnt' feel like a character I would care about. The move set is cool, but who played as the default Look/name Robin? I didn't even know the default name WAS Robin.
The slot could've been given to other characters with a similar moveset. I would've prefered someone like Isaac myself.

I like the new precident this reveal sets though. Now we don't necessarily need a direct for new character reveals. But I do wonder just how many newbies are left.
 
So I've noticed something. Whenever Sakurai has deconfirmed a character, he outright makes sure we know. Like Chrom and Rayman today for example, or Waluigi from months ago.

Yet, even though he teased Ridley as a boss, he didn't outright deconfirm him. I have a theory, a scary one at that.

What if we are getting Ridley but
It's the baby Ridley and normal Ridley is his Final Smash

This for those who don't know what I'm referring to.

Rayman wasn't flat out deconfirmed, actually.
Rayman's literally the most confusing fucking thing Sakurai has shown off for a game. Like that is some top tier trolling right there.
 
Ahh your right. I never use default names.

That said I don't like having custom characters in fighting games. That robin isn't MY robin, looks totally different, and I really grew attached with my robin and chrom.

I hope there's at least a red head version with a different hairstyle.

That said levin sword represent! I was hoping that the next fire emblem character would revolve around magic and have a levin sword.
 
Why am I so hype for a character from a game I've yet to play?!

...probably because one of my long-time requests since Melee was a female FE rep, and I finally got it.

Now I need to actually play FEA :-p

Seriously though, they weren't playing man. 3 reveals in one day. Craziness.

I got hyped with the possibility of Melia... Using her elementals in a fighting game? could be pretty unique and special...

Probably not happening though, if we're now even doubting Shulk's inclusion...

That's like saying nobody recognizes or plays as default Shepard.

Which everyone does and lots of people do. Not knowing the default name was Robin is like saying you didn't know Ness and Lucas' default names. The game tells you explicitly.

is possibly the only character choice more inexplicable than Anthony.

If you're gonna add a Metroid character, at least add a Metroid character from a good game.
 
Aw yeah, I'm loving the Awakening love Sakurai is showing. Really happy to see both Robins show up and even Lucy too. Robin looks like a lot of fun to play, too. I'm also really looking forward to battling to Awakening music in Smash! Come on, Conquest!

Now just throw in an Owain trophy and I'll be the happiest camper ever. Come on, Sakurai!

No I agree with you completely! Sadly, Metroid has been represented in Smash 4 by Other M excluding Dark Samus. In this case I'd say be careful what you wish for, because we might just get it.
