Including male and female versions of the same character as 2 entries:

Good work! Ubisoft would go bankrupt!

So I organized every character by franchise

I think what's most obviously missing is a Star Fox rep (Falco) and some franchises (Ness, Mr. Game & Watch) and maybe a Pokémon (Jigglypuff or Mewtwo ?) since Fire Emblem now has as many reps (which I'm grateful for)

Yoshi's his own franchise as far as Smash is concerned and shouldn't be in the middle of Mario.

The Mii Fighter bit is a good point - he's have to still be in the loop to know that, wouldn't he?

No, we're just assuming that Mii was changed to Mii Fighter because he called it that the second time. Actually it's probably been Mii Fighter since the beginning. He just left out the Fighter part instead.

Including male and female versions of the same character as 2 entries: *chart*

Brings the roster up to 40 if you include male/female versions of the same character as 2 separate characters, meaning 12/40 are female, or 30%

Given the male:female ratio in video games generally, that's not bad. Which major female characters appropriate for Smash that we're still missing?

Explain this to me.

Ubi claimed it would be too much extra work to make a female assassin in Assassin's Creed.

Just rewatched the trailer and, at the end, Female Robin uses both Elthunder and Elwind without any noticeable animation for switching elements. Also, she didn't need to charge to use Elthunder or Thoron.

So the landing lag on Lucina's nair looks pretty fast compared to some of the Marth footage from E3.

I like where this is going...

Aww yeah.

Anyone else noticing how less detailed Lucina's face appears compared to the rest of the FE cast in the Wii U shots, looks like a mannequin face.

Oddly her face on the 3DS pics look more detailed

I'm sure it's been asked, but what stage is this? Also, do we have any clue what the difference is between all the swords? Bronze, glowing bronze, and the better blade?

Robin's in the dragon room for Pokemon XY. And we don't, but I wouldn't be surprised if his swords were like his tomes.

Oh boy I am getting excited for Robin, especially if they include alts for his alternate hair designs/colors like with Villager.

That would be really cool. Though I would expect that any alts would still be of "medium build" Robin.
I want to recreate my "full build" female Robin ;)

I don't understand why we're counting Pokémon, Kirby and Yoshi and stuff like that. All females are pretty much human.

Some are extremely debatable, for sure, and I could make another one w/ only humanoid characters as well, but this was just for fun.

Kirby melee trophy:

A denizen of the far-off, peaceful planet Pop Star, Kirby became a citizen of Dream Land after defeating King Dedede. Even though he's only about eight inches tall, Kirby is an extremely skilled technician. He has the ability to absorb the powers of his enemies, and his elastic body makes him a versatile adventurer.

Yoshi Smash 64 description:

Yoshi is the friendly dinosaur of Yoshi's Island. He began as Mario's partner, but has since built his own identity, and now appears in many games. He uses his unique ability to turn whatever he swallows into an egg as his foremost attack. Yoshis come in a rainbow cloud of colors and are said to have a high IQ from a very early age.

And pokemon, like we mentioned in the past few pages, pikachu is definitely male and the rest have masculine sounding voices.

Maybe Robin's moves are like:

B = summon tome
B + Side = Thunder
B + Up = Fire
B + Down = Wind

With them charging more as you use them.

I also think we're missing another Metroid and DK rep. Metroid's hard because people want Ridley and we're not sure how that's gonna go down. I personally want Dixie for a third DK character.

Looks weird in that shot but okay in a lot of the others on her page.

I wonder if her mask removal is her intro.

And I thought this guys usually did intelligent discussion. The part about the leak is pretty stupid, you can clearly see what Sakurai did to surprise people (directors have done it time and time again in other media, just to surprise their audience and kill leaks from ruining everything, is not something surprising or new). Of course the leak is not the means to end all like it seem before, becuase of course he seems to don't know everything (and thank god for that), but saying that he only got right names and characters because of chance? Yeah no, im sorry people at gameXplain.
What's going to happen when Shulk and Chorus Men are confimed, but also a bunch of other characters the leak never talked about? people are still going to think the leak was not real?

We've known about that Pokémon stage for ages. One of my motivations to stop being so lazy and actually finish it.

Yeah, but it's a spoiler because (Awakening spoilers)
Both Robins are posing in the dragon part of the stage, next to a dragon head, and are both dragons themselves.

falcon punch, fast falcon punch, slow falcon punch

Does not compute. It can't possibly get slower than it is right now, or it wouldn't hit anybody ever. Though making it faster would make it overpowered, unless nerfed to oblivion.

Have you heard of Ganondorf's Warlock Punch?

[At least I think it's slower. It feels slower. If it's not, then I'll say Ganondorf's up tilt instead.]

Just realized that Link is the only blonde male character in Smash so far.

In the trailer, Robin mentions that he can "only use them (his tomes) so many times". He is seen using the Levin sword while concurrently carrying tomes.

I think it would be fairly interesting if Robin's tomes had a cooldown period and were temporally dispensable, meaning that you would have to be prudent in how you actually used those ranged abilities. The moves would obviously be more powerful to compensate, but if you were reckless and wasteful in how you used them, you would obviously be more vulnerable and weaker.

It was for the level of detail they wanted and conflicts with the how ACU's co-op works*. But that's due to the design of the co-op mode itself and not because Ubisoft is a bunch of jerkfaces.

*IIRC each of the players is playing the same male character, not anonymous custom characters or anything like that.

Nintendo said the same thing about Peach in NSMBWii and keeping fipping Hyrule in Twilight Princess Wii.

Wow. That was a badly tagged spoiler. At least warn you were switching from Pokémon to Fire Emblem there. I haven't even played the game.
