melee falco looks like he plays exactly like fox if u just watching a 3 sec clip showing a few of her moves, even more so with Doctor Mario. Would you consider them alts or clones?

She's definitely a new character. But since she has the same moves as Marth, we don't know if she gets her own slot or not on the select screen.

Lucina got an introduction banner in the video. She has a full wide newcomer banner on the mobile website, with the word "newcomer" on it. She has a character profile. She features equally with Robin in the new art. She is exactly as much a new individual character as EVERY other new individual character. We have seen NUMEROUS alts, and NONE of them have these characteristics. Moveset similarities between characters have existed since Melee. Her being a new character is not unknown, it is not hazy, it is not questionable, it is a fact.
You are welcome to ignore facts as much as anyone else on the Internet, alls I'm saying is don't try to prop up your non-argument by using "we" to make it sound like you have supporters.

Except for her moveset, her unsual treatment, etc. It's really 50/50 right now.
This just plain isn't true. She's more of the same character as Marth than any character has ever been. Even Doc Mario had pills instead of fireballs.
I guess she's kind of close to Blood Falcon though.
There's really no way Sakurai would put a character on the main site, in a trailer with a splash screen, and give her her own selection of screenshots, then arbitrarily put her in the same slot as Marth even though they are separate characters and in the past, clones have been separate.
It's a silly argument. But amusing.

Her moveset is similar but every clone so far in the series has had their own character slot.
Her unusual treatment is on the site alone, and is likely on account of the guest artist only making one piece of artwork.

Some people real hurt by this Lucina thing eh? We should all be excited that the leak is officially not 100% (never was to begin with). I almost wanted to bet that Robin was in Smash but chickened out. Anyway, these surprises are what makes Smash hype HYPE.

They are similar though, so I guess I can understand the disappoint, but the clone/alt thing is nonsense. We don't know enough. I am being a little biased tbh, as I wanted Lucina over Chrom the day Marth (fuck Marth) was announced. This also kills the notion that Mewtwo is gone just because Lucario is back (which was dumb to begin with).

Her move set is literally exactly the same. If she was an alt for Marth, this is exactly what it would look like. We won't know anything more until Sakurai clarifies further. Even if she does have her own slot on the select screen, she's essentially an alt for Marth anyway.
But it's a shame that everyone's so hostile today. I'm not gonna try arguing with a brick wall, so I'm gonna stop. Hopefully Sakurai clarifies soon, I'm interested to see what her situation is.

We've seen approximately five of them. Doctor Mario has ALL of Mario's moves, with exactly the same animations, except for the pill.

Please define it. To some an alt is an alternate costume, to others it seems to be a clone. Then there is the other possibility of an alt being an identical reskin of a character but with a different name, which has never ever happened in smash bros history.

Sakurai has clarified that he doesn't want alt costumess to be different characters. The only alt costumes we have are ones that have selectable genders in their respective games. Sakurai also would not overhype an alternate costume as a new character. That'd just be stupid.

I always took an alt to be a different skin for a character - more substantial than a palette swap but not a completely different character. Thus Villager's various forms are alts, and Wario's overalls are an alt, but clones like Roy aren't alts.

Yeah, I'd say it's an alternate costume. Something that changes the character model significantly, but while still being selectable from the same slot. Like male/female Robin, male/female WFT, classic/Warioware Wario, and possibly Marth/Lucina.
Like you are, that's the point. You have no idea if Lucina is a clone or an alt, none of us do. It's up in the air.

Who on earth has suggested that Lucina's moves don't have different properties other than you? Mario and Dr Mario move exactly the same, but plenty of their moves affect the enemy differently. Just like Fox/Falco. I cannot understand why you're acting like identically-animating clones are a new thing in SSB.
