But I mean, the site is still going and what not. I'm just surprised that they don't bring him in for the random comic book movie tie in game or whatever though.

The only mention of Comic Vine now is basically Jeff using it as a place to get questions for his videos.
 
I see the Gamespot thread that basically proves that Danny is best kept there. People here really wanted him to come to GB, but it's the best of both worlds if he stays put: he still shows up regularly on GB stuff, he does great work at GS that he can get the otherwise uninterested GB audience to tune in to because of his presence, and he's seen as the pillar of GS at the moment. He's in a pretty sweet position.
 
Danny will never work for GB. I feel confident making that statement.

Unless CBSi lets GB go, then maybe. Imagine the awkwardness, otherwise.
 
They pump out a ton of content considering it's only Tony in the actual office as far as I can tell. Seems like there's at least 3 others on staff based on the reviews section but not sure. I should really get around to listening to some of the podcasts..looks like they get a lot of creators on.

The Awesome Art Picks article on Saturday and the Mystery Art Challenge when they get to a convention are probably my favorite things on the site.

There's really no reason for him to. He has the best of both worlds right now - he's a critical part of Gamespot while being able to appear pretty frequently in GB content.
 
Yeah, Danny loves the formal hosting gig, but he still needs an outlet where he can occasionally let off steam by blowing a woman's torso to pieces.

Good for them, I don't see a problem with it. Not a fan of their videos, however they're entertainers not critics - they don't need impartiality.

Yup, we should feel lucky instead that he's free to spend so much time with GB. Don't know his work hours, but he potentially takes 2+ hour "breaks" on Fridays just to be part of UPF.

I think people were pissed because it was the first time (well, probably), that they had a minimum price bundle for 25 bucks (the SGDQ one was also 25 bucks or so IIRC) and that when it was "leaked", there was no minimum so people felt cheated when they "raised" the price later.

But yeah, it's not as bad as the Total War bundle. lol
 
Btw, I asked Jeff about the SSB thing on his Tumblr and got a response.

final verdict makes sense, but hopefully SSB4 can ignite something in them so we can see some cool Smash battles.

I would be surprised if Dan doesn't like Smash Bros., but maybe playing Brawl for 30 hours straight soured him on it, lol.
 
Is it just me or is the idea of a Spelunky speedrun pretty weird? I'm sure it took a bunch of skill but luck has to be such a huge factor in a game as random as that.
 
Dan seems to like all Nintendo games, so I don't see why he wouldn't like Smash Bros.

Vinny also said he likes Smash Bros., but he likes everything!

Luck is a factor in most speed runs. Getting the right enemy movement, right boss pattern, and other odd stuff.
 
I remember hearing that people who've played Spelunky as much as those guys have start to learn how the random generation works, too, so they can for example figure out where the exit is going to be from the start of the level.

I'm pretty bummed at the lack of coverage as well. Since I couldn't go, I was hoping for content showing what I missed.

It's not like GB has ever done much coverage of conventions outside of E3 and PAX, so it didn't really surprise me. But I'm sure Dan (and Jason, if he's on) will talk about it on the Bombcast today since they went for a day.

Yeah, but unlike those, this was in their city, and ostensibly the last one unless they pull a hail Mary. I don't know that it got much coverage elsewhere, did it?

Not really, no.

Anyways, we'll see what we get on the Bombcast. Would've been cool to get some videos from the event, but unless Jason had a camera with him we won't get that.

Dear Dota Bomb. I still have no idea what I am doing, but...

I am not playing right (afraid to attack players, but I am not dying. I am getting last hits on creeps, earning gold, and leveling up well.

I dont think I could play Dota without Sand Storm though.

I can now sell an item I received 0.03c for it apparently. I dont want it anyway - it is not for my SAND KING!

Dota is great, I should have never doubted it!
