We're just a wee more than 48 hours until we (well, PS4 owners) get to tear into this. I won't be able to play it right as it releases since I have work on Thursday but I have taken the day off Friday so I'll be up to my eyeballs in Fallen and Hive from Thursday evening onward. I look forward to seeing how that companion app plays out as well. I hope some of the grimoire cards have their descriptions reinstated but at the very least the app will give me a nice way to flip through the art on them.

I'm team Hunter but I look forward to creating and playing the other two classes as well during the Beta since I'm sure I'm going to cap out my Hunter in one sitting. Can't wait to try my hand out on some space magic.

Gonna re-ask to see if this question jogs anyone's memory from alpha: Does mic chat in Destiny seem to have any form of noise-gate or voice activation? (Meaning it's not a completely open mic, it needs volume above some minimum level to transmit.)

I have a nice Blue Yeti mic for podcasting/voiceover stuff and it works on my PS4, but I don't want to use it if it means annoying my team with background noise and controller sounds.

You know what, I didn't even think to use my mic in the alpha....but.........I don't talk to strangers..........

My dude .... I am on a 16 hr o.t shift right now, until 8am. Then I have only 2 more days of work..THEN I'm off the following 5 days.. Thurs - Mon!!!!!
My girl has gotten the leave me alone speech 2 moths prior and it has been said every weekend since spoken of, you know..just to reinforce the issue ..so she knows
I can not fucking wait ...I haven't been ampted for a game like this in a long long time.
 
I'm worried I will burn myself out on this beta. I hope I'm just being foolish and that the real game is so much bigger that my copy of Destiny should come with exclusive crow DLC.
 
Does anyone know how the DestinyGAF group will factor into the game? Will group members on the same platform show up on the roster screen? I also don't know how clans work. Is "group" the term Bungie is using for clans, or are clans separate entities?
 
Honestly I'm a little bit scared to play the beta. I've been hyped since the first reveal and I hope I won't be disappointed.
But if I enjoy the beta too much the wait until September will be unbearable.

I love this. So good. I will be picking up the OST for sure. Where is Music of the Spheres by the way? Is that ever coming out?

On the other hand, the Halo Spartan Assault soundtrack is well composed and is a great homage to Marty's work. I'd dare say that I like it a bit more in some of its tracks, although it's noticeably smaller in scale.

This is also fantastic. Didn't realize the soundtrack for this relatively poopy game was so good.

In the alpha, it only served to add a tag to your nameplate. Would be nice if it were implemented like that, but dunno if it will be x.x

As for group vs clan, they're different. I'm not sure how the existing groups will come into play, but clans are smaller entities. Clans can join together under an alliance. I think the general idea is that groups will be alliances, with a number of clans beneath them. Hopefully this system will be properly implemented alongside the beta.

Too bad they dropped the "mini-guns", I've seen them in many concept pictures.

Finding myself really tempted to drop £100 for the limited edition, but I think I'm going to wait until the beta is over to see if my hype continues to be off the charts ;)

The supers are already inviting a lot of "OMG UNBALANCED" complaints. If they add class specific weapons, they're going to be opening an entirely new can of worms regarding balance issues.

My hype is so far off the chart, I cancelled my pre-order of September 2013 just so I could get the LE edition and I have no idea how I'm going to pay for it!.....

I really love the concept art from the City. I really hope they expand upon the playable areas there. Maybe there could be an invasion and you have to defend the streets?

What will be available from the Crucible in the beta?

The alpha started you at level four and set the level cap at eight. If you start the beta at level one, what's the level cap for the beta?

I somewhat expect there to be a large battle inside the City with the last game or expansion. And then when it's all over we get to go inside the Traveler for a massive Raid and when we finish it the Traveler will reveal EVERYTHING.
