I really hope that they're required in some form to complete the raid/endgame strikes. I always love playing tank classes in MMOs for this very reason - you're never stuck waiting for a group.

The Beta begins first for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system (PlayStation Plus required for some features) and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system at 10:00am PDT on July 17.

The Beta begins for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system and Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft (Xbox Live Gold required, subject to change) at 10:00am PDT on July 23.

The Beta will be offline for scheduled maintenance on July 21 – July 22 and open back up to pre-order participants across all platforms until 11:59pm PDT on July 27.

Do all supers generate orbs? Honestly only thought it was the hunter ability.

If it does, it will probably generate them as the shield takes dmg or something, would make sense considering what the shield's utility is imo

I'm just hoping that there's something healing alone won't be able to mitigate - I'm curious how much punishment the shield can take before it pops... if it pops at all until its duration expires.

Titan's super (Fist of Havoc) and Warlock's super (Nova Bomb) generates orbs of light, so it's not just the Hunter.

Beta hasn't started yet, and considering the nature of the competition, it should technically be possible to donate and jump in a day before the Beta ends, no? Just bump it up at the start of and during the Beta and the people will come.
