I think this may be a regional thing. There's one non gaming ad on my dashboard, a small tile in the lower left corner.I see fucking McDonalds ads all the time.
I'm in the US.

That shot was taken just a few minutes ago in the games section of the US PSN store. I took that shot. No, they're not. You are mistaken.
"Coming Soon" is all stuff on the store. You are not yet in the Games section in that screen cap.
I completed that game 1000/1000 and never saw one ad. Please show some proof of your claim.I see a friend play Max CoB on X1 and there are fucking ads right there when the game starts up. Before he can access the menu he has to close the giant ads app that pops up.
Can't comment on one console vs. the other, but the ads on the PS4's Twitch streams have completely ruined its "channel surfing" potential for me. Friggin' 30 sec. Ubisoft commercials...

It's sad that so many people have the 360 and Xbox One completely mixed up. On the other hand you can directly see who owns one and who doesn't.
But it's a store. There can be ads for anything. I don't understand why others don't understand this. MS and Sony can put what they want in there. We're not talking about the main XMB screen.
PS4 store sucks balls for sure, but it's pretty much store-only. I'd like it to be better, but it doesn't really impact me much since the main console dashboard isn't littered with adds like the X360's is/was (haven't had it on in year now). That shit was just offensive.
You really have to learn how to upload images.
Use imgur or something similar.
You already apologized beforeSorry about that, I clarified in my post that I'm a 360 owner and my brother has the Xbox One. I have a PS4, but use the Xbox One for exclusives that interest me.
Hey, I was doing it quickly while cooking, I typically throw them in Picasa. Apologies.
Yeah well here is the Canadian store. I just took these shots. It's sad that so many people have the 360 and Xbox One completely mixed up. No.
Ads don't even show up on PS4 during normal gaming experience. In the store they are categorized correctly (no movie ads in "games" tab), have an appealing layout, and a very user friendly UI.

Ha, I was just saying since the ones you previously tried to link were also broken.
I expect ads in an online store, but fuck xbones dash. Shit is cluttered mess at best.
Oops, sorry! Fixed.
Oops, sorry! Fixed.
Is it US Only? I don't see these in my PSN Store. That YouTube one looks hilariously stupid.
A slim jim ad? Haha!
Oops, sorry! Fixed.
And? I'm failing to see your point.Yeah well here is the Canadian store. I just took these shots.
dum dum dummmmmm

Let me help you out: that stuff is not in all the regional stores. As I am learning myself. Those are Canadian shots above that I posted and there are no movies or any other kinds of ads outside of games in the games section.Caayn said:And? I'm failing to see your point.

The OP just literally said the opposite was true.Ads on the PS4 are not as prominent as the Xbox. What more do you want?

It must be. I'm seeing all kinds of bullshit in these screens that I've never seen.
Slim Jim's, like seriously wtf

Great way of summarizing it. Xbox ads infinitely worse. So you went to the store and were advertised to. You initiated an intend to purchase. On 360 you were/are advertised to on the dashboard, which is disgusting.

I'm confused now, are there ever ads on the PS4 on the dashboard/home screen? Or are they only relegated to the storefront?
Oops, sorry! Fixed.
I'm also in Canada and based on these screens it looks like we get different stuff from the US store.
I got that. Do you think that the same doesn't go for the Xbox One?Let me help you out: that stuff is not in all the regional stores. As I am learning myself. Those are Canadian shots above that I posted and there are no movies or any other kinds of ads outside of games in the games section.
What ads? I don't see any ads!
All I see is fine video media that you are privileged to be made aware of.
Store / What's New only...both have to be accessed with a button click.
Is there a reason people are simply lying at this point?
What would that achieve? I mean your first paragraph has been debunked many times over with photographic evidence and the second paragraph is just....well...made up.
I got that. Do you think that the same doesn't go for the Xbox One?
