PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Hmm, aside from the Corpse Party bundle none of the sales really interest me this week. Might pick up Crimson Land, but I already have a pretty big backlog to get through.

Edit: Oh, I'm top of page. Of course this would happen when I haven't played any games for the past week and a half. No recommendations :(!

Edit 2: Shizuka recommends the Corpse Party bundle.

I didn't fuse enough in my P4G run. Then again, I lucked out and got many level up cards during my dungeon runs so I could make my Personas last. I used the same Persona for the last three dungeons because of this.

I'm having this problem now with P4G. I have been grinding through the third dungeon, I think (Rise's dungeon), and I keep getting beat down pretty bad against the bosses. Can anyone recommend some help?

My party is: Myself (Level 28), Chie (Level 26), Yosuke (Level 26), Yukiko (Level 25). I have started to fuse Personas more, and my main persona is Jack Frost (Level 25-26 ish).

Am I too under-powered, do I need to grind more? Any help would be appreciated!

Welp. I was wrong. The advertised deals aren't for me, but I think I'll be picking up P2: Eternal Punishment to round out my Portable Persona collection.

I'm looking at videos of Devil Summoner 2 though... For somebody that likes action RPGs and is starting to really get into Persona games (although I haven't even beaten P4G yet! Shame on me!) is Devil Summoner 2 something I should be looking into?

If you care about the overall SMT storyline with the main games and spinoffs, Devil Summoner is an important part. Also the action in the Devil Summoner is not close to the basic Action RPG you see in DMC or Darksiders.

The bundle sale isn't appealing to me but it seems like Sony is just experimenting with digital pricing models lately to see what sticks. The 99 cent flash sales have obviously been at least somewhat successful because they keep doing them.

Has Herc's Adventures ever gone on sale? I have $12 left in my wallet and am trying to decide between Herc's Adventures and Jet Moto or Devil Summoner 1,2, and something else.
Man I just can't recommend Herc's Adventures. Bought it and regretted it. Doesn't hold up at all IMO. I never played it back in the day though.

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but is Crimsonland going to be crossbuy? Or should I just wait for the Vita one to release?

Not that I recall, no. While Devil Summoner 1 & 2 being $4 is the cheapest it's been, considering how often Atlus has their digital stuff on sale, I wouldn't be surprised if it was discounted again later this year. Heck, it's the reason I'm waiting on Digital Devil Saga, because I know that'll be $5 soon enough.

Hm, I guess i'll wait on Devil Summoner then. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I also finished up my P1-4 digital collection after losing all my physicals. What do you guys think of my background for them? I might change it to Maya smiling and have the bubbles revolve around her.

I played the hell out of the PS1 demo and loved it. Which aspects of the game don't hold up ?

Could be playing a single persona run.
Sounds like torture.

You are a bit under levelled. You ideally want to be at least level 30 for that fight, it's pretty tough. Get to level 30-35 and then fuse some new Personas. King Frost, Ose, stuff like that. Absorb Bufu is useful for that fight. Also if you're new to SMT/Persona: use buffs and debuffs. They are really, really useful in these games unlike most RPGs. And make sure you're guarding when the boss raises their arm for their big attack.

Did anyone else get the Muramasa DLC? I downloaded and installed it, and it doesn't show up in my Genroku Legends section. I can only see the first 2 DLC that I have to chose from.

EDIT: Never mind, forgot to update the game itself...

Why don't you just recommend the Corpse Party bundle?

Great background!

I pretty much own one game from each of those 2 for 1 sale bundles, either picking it up for cheap before or it having been free on Plus.

Corpse Party bundle is good for those who haven't played those.

No bundle or sale here in Europe :|

Anyway, is the game worth it? I read somewhere that it was kind of a Rpgmaker project turned into a full game?

No, it is not an action RPG, if that is what you want, negative, it is a strategy more so.

From everything I've read, yes. No PS3 transfer required.

The bundle doesn't show up on the Vita store for me. Only each game separately for 19$ each.

EDIT: In fact, the only bundle that shows up on the Vita store is the GTA one.

He's pretty fun to play, but I still don't know how to efficiently use his aerial secret art.

Also, the abilities' names aren't showing up when equipping, lol.
His air special was fairly useful against the Tengu and other airborne fodder. Not much else though.

I think that happened with the other characters too. Not a big deal, but hopefully they patch it quickly.

Buy it on the webstore, then the games will be in your download list on your Vita.

Yeah... Once again the weekly sales come up a little short for me. I'd be interested in Blood Dragon and Call of Juarez, but at maybe half that price.

Eh, ive been eyeing blood dragon and heard great things about gunslinger. Might bite but it's not exactly 2f1 in this case.

Thinking about jumping in on that GTA: LCS and VCS deal for the vita. Anyone have any experience with those games on the vita enough to make a recommendation? I've never played either of them in any capacity before.

I felt like the combat was stiff, shallow and too repetitive for what it was. I only played with Herc, though. Played it for a few hours at least. It's the kind of game that's designed for d-pads but screams out for more analog control today. I guess I was hoping for something closer to Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Neat art style, though.

Hey did that rumor of a parappa the rapper game ever come out?

HAH I knew at some point Raidou 1 and 2 would be getting discounts. Quite significant ones too.

Grabbing them.

I surprised that you didn't buy them before they went on sale.

Hit up shahid with this game (At work, then going to bed later). I need this game on DAT OLED.

Saw it but didn't get a chance to play it.

Nice. The 4 new Pinball Arcade tables are $4.99 each, on top of the last few Season 3 tables that were $4.99 each. Good thing they used iOS policies as an excuse to not sell a $30 season pass on PSN... and that it's never been cross-buy with PS4.

I'm going to buy these, but I won't enjoy it.

I wish can hit up shahid with Japanese indie/doujin games for PSN.

Loving Memories of Celceta so far but... this map completion % is going to be the death of me. Just got to the second town so I decided to check a guide to see if I was doing okay % wise. I'm 0.3% off where I should be at this point. And I have no idea what's missing. So frustrating.

Leave it be until after you're done with the game, or else you won't really enjoy exploring that huge map.
