Yeah, the boss idea is very plausible.
Still a dumb "leak". Guy should know who Yellow Devil, Petey Pirahna, and Dark Pit are, instead of employing these faux-vague descriptions.
Also, playable boss mode Ridley probably won't sate the appetites of Ridley fans. I know I wouldn't. I'd accept it as "better than nothing", but that's about it.

It's probably nothing, but it would be an interesting way to incorporate the GamePad, & it would explain the more jagged movements of Ridley in the Smash Direct.
The Amiibo part also intrigues me, as it would add more incentive to get the figures.

Im gonna take a guess that someone created this based upon that rumor. Everything this guy said except for there being a mode where you could control bosses sounded ridiculous.
I seriously can't believe this person wouldnt know who Dark Pit is. Even if he didnt know who the character was, he looks identical to Pit.

I really wish ALL of the returning characters get refinements, cause most of the attention appears to have been focused thus far on the newcomers, Pit and a few others.
I think particularly, Mario and DK really need a rehaul.
I would love it if DK had a projectile where he could toss barrels or trampolines, which harkens back directly to his roots.

What happened? The trophy is clearly different from the one posted by Sakurai monday.
That's a much better looking model of Rayman, while my first thought is different models for different single player mode being cleared, the difference isn't enough to speculate Rayman as playable. Those trophies were completely different poses, this is just a change of eyes and angle
Edit: Looking through previous posts, seems like Wii U/3DS trophies might be slightly different or they can be animated

Though I don't believe that rumor, the idea that the boss characters would only appear on the gamepad on the character select screen is a really interesting one. I kinda hope this mode is real in some way.
Anyway, I know I'm late to the discussion a little bit, but here's my understanding of how Robin works, let me know if you all reached the same conclusion.
He/she is essentially a character with 4 different stances: fire, lightning, air, dark. Based off the reveal trailer, I'd guess fire does high damage, lightning has high knockback, air is a good recovery, and dark can be used to heal you. Each stance is set to a specific special attack, and then the actual attacks are performed with A. Smash attacks are relegated to your sword, and can even be used in the air!
Now, both your books and sword can break, but both regenerate over time. The sword just becomes a weaker sword temporarily, but I assume any one tome will be totally useless until it regenerates, forcing you to use others. I assume the sword doesn't disappear only because you'd still need some attack even if everything breaks.
Even if all your A moves are the same between tomes with only the effect changing, which is my guess, this is an unprecedented number of options. Just having the option to use tilts or smash attacks in the air changes things completely. If all of this is true, this is my favorite character reveal so far, and a potential main for me. The amount of management going on, even before throwing out an attack, is insane. Looks super complex and super fun. Hopefully he/she doesn't suck.
Edit: On second thought, he/she likely just has one tome bar and one sword bar.

After watching the trailer yet again, Robin actually seems to keep her sword sheathed when casting her spells (except the ones that appear as part of jab finishers). I think that makes it pretty clear that Sakurai just meant you could pull the Levin sword out in air for aerials, not that there are air smashes.
She draws her sword for normals and smashes, but resheathes it for specials.

I think the person who made that thread also said that the Captain Toad game shouldn't be made because it would take too much resources away from the next 3D Mario game. I wouldn't pay too much attention.
preferring characters like Ridley being playable is most certainly not limited to competitive players
It's just my way of saying "I think this idea is shit but I can imagine some of the more casual players liking it so I'll say it differently so I don't step on anyone's toes, I can't be arsed with that at the moment"

I remember hearing a complaint about the wolf costume being bad because it's non canon. It was quite possibly he stupidest fucking thing I've read on the internet.So these are some of the Project M alternates revealed so far. Hopefully, Sakurai can give us something similar for all characters!
I never cared about the two being similar to each other, but I absolutely hated Pikachu's side B when I got Melee. And side Bs in general, for that matter. It was jarring to suddenly being doing moves I didn't want while trying to move around and neutral B.
Needless to say, I got over that. =]

I think, upon further reflection, that this GFAQs leak is certainly false. There is no way that a man of Sakurai's caliber would lock moves behind purchaseable figures. He gives you a complete game. At most they would be an alternate path to unlocking things instead of earning them in-game. Zero chance of being exclusive to the figures.

Where did the leak came from?
Do you think he's also above DLC? The two aren't terribly different. And there's nothing that requires Amiibos to all launch at the same time as the game. (Unless it was in that image up there with the rumor. I didn't read most of that because of how fake it seemed.)
