With the talk of the Wii U version release date I think I'll mention again that ShopTo have a placeholder date for the Wii U version at the 21st of November, a week before Black Friday in the US. Just remember that not only is this a UK site but it is placeholder. Only bringing it up since it seems oddly precise for a placeholder. Don't take this as a confirmed release date though.

If that is in fact the release, I could see Japan getting it a week or two earlier whilst both NA and EU get it on the 21st.

In short, old writer though he owned the the characters he created under sega, went to court about things happened, I believe it worked out for him. So they rebooted everything, so all the echidina's and all that stuff related it to it gone. Some other characters, gone. I think Evil sonic world is gone too, I dunno if scrounge and crew is gone, I don't remember if they have popped up after the reboot.

Long story super short, a former writer tried to get back "his" characters (most famously, Knuckles recolors) from Archie (even if they belong to Sega) and through an overly long legal nightmare, it ended up making all character created by him unusable (including very plot important characters). Since Archie couldn't do anything about that, they used the Sonic/Megaman crossover to pull a "New 52" styled reboot to the universe.

Exactly what I was thinking. I thought they would have the Japanese release be two weeks after and focus on getting Smash and Amiibos out in the US earlier where they'll be more effective.

I also agree they'll release this broken and possibly missing modes just patching them in later. They need this out for the holidays.

I don't know if this has been discussed already but I'm hella curious how Mega Man is going to be handled as far as custom B moves are concerned. Is he gonna have move variants of the existing moves or not?

Personally, I'd like to see special move variants of what he already has...his games can pull from so many moves that function alike but look different or totally different moves. Also it plays directly into his character more that he's this "walking arsenal" of Robot Master moves he's snatched up over time.

I guess to give an example would be perhaps Metal Blade and its ability to be fired diagonally can be replaced with Pharaoh Shot or Shadow Blade since they function similarly, or a totally different move altogether.

I would like to bring up that we didn't have worldwide release date for Smash 4. I'm very grateful for that because it could meant that Sakurai are stuffing everything as they can in the game right before they hit the deadline, so that's probably why they need few weeks. Translators would have time to translate those things for their region-specific languages for the games at last minute.

I know it's all theoretical but I believe that it's more likely tho.
