Yeah he cause the ripple effect of more people reviewing retro games thus causing their prices to stupidly sky rocket for no good reason.

If you think James Rolfe is the only reason why retro games shot up in price over a 10-year period, you are really giving him too much credit (or blame?). The fact that a few million people all came into their prime buying years and the games were and are excellent and meaningful to those people is why they're so expensive.

Pretty much waiting on getting first patch out before I try any additional coverage (at least more than what I'm doing now), as 1st patch will have much improvements/fixes/etc. Though that won't be too long from now.

Yeah, reviews were mixed. The negative reviews do however help me improve the game. So I'm thankful for them. The user impressions has been mostly positive and I've gotten a lot of good feedback from users, esp from miiverse. Already have been able to improve the game a lot thanks to miiverse, a great tool for developers really. Now to get that 1st patch out there! :lol

I have to say, someone else launched a game the same week you did and had the same struggles and hasn't acted with half as much class so kudos to you.

I don't think I've actually played a Metal Slug game so I'm not sure how similar it is to Contra/Probotecter but the closest thing I can think of off the top of my head on 3DS is Super C on VC.

Metal Slug and Contra are really different imo

Whoa, GBA VC on fire. I just picked up MVDK not too long ago for GBA so that's a neat VC get. Glad to see the GS sequel is coming too. Also, hoping we get these Kirby spin-offs soon!

Yup. they're really leaning into it (relatively speaking!). Hoping it'll grow to be an extensive library as time goes on - which would also require some more obscure titles!

Most def! The GBA has one of the most under-appreciated libraries of any system. In my drawer next to me I have Drill Dozer, Lilo & Stitch and Broken Sword...to name just three practically unknown games from the GBA library which are considered high quality games.

Drill Dozer is hardly unknown and saying that BS is 'known' would be a huge understatement :P

Next week on Japan eShop

So, which of the 10 EU MK8 promotional games I should pick?

Nintendo Land
New Super Mario Bros. U
Game & Wario
Pikmin 3
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
Sonic Lost World (Wii U version)
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
Wii Party U
The Wonderful 101 (PEGI 12)*
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U version; PEGI 12)*

I already have Wind Waker HD (got the Wind Waker limited edition Wii U) and own the 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3. So I'm thinking either Pikmin 3 or The Wonderful 101, although getting the Wii U version of MH3 is a decent prospect as well.

W101 has a demo on eshop. The demo doesn't do the game justice, but at list you can know for sure that if you like the demo you will love the game. My personal favorite is Pikmin 3 (which I still consider to be the best Wii U game).

I would go for Pikmin 3 its one of my favourite games on the system + it's smaller then w101 so more HD space left for you.

I actually already tried the TW101 demo and it got me interested in the game. Didn't really consider it before playing. I understand it doesn't do a very good job of showcasing the game, but it still was enjoyable and, well, intriguing.

As I said, if the demo interested you in the game, you'll probably like the game.

On the other hand, W101 is quite often on sale so you could get Pikmin 3 from the promotion and buy a cheap W101.

I would go with Pikmin 3. The game is just pure class.

I've just accessed the Canadian eShop, and Batman Arkham Origins and Injustice are both on sale, US$ 20 each. Have I missed the announcement?

The Wonderful 101 is something truly extraordinary in my opinion. Pikmin was just an ok game other than in how it makes you care for the little Pikmin so much in my opinion.

But, If I were you I'd go for Pikmin with this and get The Wonderful 101 from elsewhere. TW101 can be bought for quite cheap most of the time.

I have the same problem. The only games I don't already own are:

Game & Wario
Sonic Lost World
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

I'm not really interested in Mario & Sonic. I played the Monster Hunter Demo a few times and even managed to kill the rabbit the last time I tried it but it wasn't any fun. I don't see myself getting into this kind of game. I played the Demo for Sonic Lost World and it was okay. It was my first time playing a Sonic platformer so I don't know how to feel about it. Especially considering all the bad impressions.
Which leaves me with Game & Wario... but I'm not really sure if I'll like this one either... (I haven't played any of the WarioWare games but I did enjoy Nintendo Land).

Thanks. I'm waiting for the 1st patch to go live and I then plan to do a sale or so. I actually know how some other games have done via sales on eShop, and really excited to see how my game does with a sale. From what I know, people LOVE sales. But, given Steam Summer Sales, that should be obvious to anyone. lol

Currently working on the 1st patch now. Hopefully fix the current issue with that last patch submission and re-submit it by tonight or tomorrow.

Edit: For those who been asking me, I am talking about ZaciSa's Last Stand

I'd suggest giving Monster Hunter a try. I didn't care very much for that particular quest either and I love the game. There's much more to it than combat (which might get tedious occasionally), gathering and managing your resources in the village is a massive part of it.

As for me, I think I'll get The Wonderful 101 later when it's on sale or something. Which leaves us with Pikmin 3 and... Monster Hunter 3. The 3DS version is nice, but it looks much better on the Wii U and then there is online multiplayer to consider (I don't actually know anyone with the game, so I'm on my own in the 3DS version). Hnghhh. Thank you for all the suggestion though!

Incidentally, is it common knowledge that downloading Animal Crossing Plaza gives you 50 CN stars? It's a small amount, pretty nice nevertheless.

I've been playing this game, Strike Force Foxx (coming out tomorrow on US eShop but. I won a code so I was able to get it early). It's a decent game but it seems kind of repetitive once you get the hang of it. The unlocks seem too far spaced out with the first unlocks got after 9 and 12 stars but the later ones to be unlocked at 50 stars. The levels generally play out with you fly the helicopter, shoot the enemies, pick up civilians, repeat until you get 5/6 passengers or hit the end of the screen and then, repeat the process until you rescue everybody. I do like how motion control your tilt. The dialogue is kind of cheesy but decently funny and the plot is kind of nonsensical. Not really sure if I should recommend this.

don't forget us, PAL wiiu owners!

Is there anything high-profile, specially VC for the Wii U, available for $5?

Hrmm the only $5 VC games are NES and GBC I think. As far as Wii U NES VC games, I don't know if I'd call anything "high-profile". On 3DS however you can get Recca, which is a pretty rad piece of history for a paltry 5 bucks.

Karaoke Joysound and Demo are being listed on NA Club Nintendo... incoming release, finally?

Homepage is open

http://kjw.joysound.com/

Looked through the Songs. There are some differences between the US and European Version.

Songs and Bands I actually miss in Wii U Karaoke are there like The Cure, Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Crash Test Dummies, Limp Bizkit, U2.

So I hope we'll get them too in the future and of course vice Versa.

Wii U Karaoke has over 2000 Songs while Wii Karaoke Joysound starts with 1000.

All NES games? I guess I'll wait for a sale or until I can get more money for a GBA or SNES game. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

Any Brazilian has Batman Arkham Origins on the Wii U? I would like to know if the Wii U version has the Brazilian Portuguese localization that's on the 360 and PC versions. The game is $20 on both Wii U and Steam, but I have $10 credit on the eShop.

(I'm not sure the game has language selection in it's own options or you need to switch the language in the system settings).
