You need PS+ to play this...ffs.

On PS4 you need PS+ for the crucible and strikes. Story and explore mode should work without I believe. On PS3, plus is unnecessary.

That didn't work for me, and now the PSN is down for me as well. Even the Plus sign disappeared from the side of my username. The always online future definitely isn't here yet, and I'll be extremely pissed off if this happens when the full game launches.

Okay not sure what just happened. I was downloading the beta and when it reached around 25% it switched to what I think was the installing download bar, and then when that finished it just quit out. I thought maybe it had finished and the % had been wrong so I quit out and then Destiny is nowhere to be found.

I'm wrong. I'm so wrong. Here's the FULL steps of obtaining this Beta (PS+ is required):

1. Reedeem store code on Bungie.net
2. Get PSN/Xbone code on Bungie.net
3. Redeem PSN/Xbone code on PSN/XBL.
4. Download the Shell + update.
5. Download the actual program.
6. Restore licenses on PS4 (again) or else the Shell won't open
7. Activate PS4 as primary PS4 (again) or else the Shell won't open
8. Open the Shell.
9. Download the HUGE 10.97GB program. 0.09% at the moment. LOL
10. Go to sleep because this thing is not downloading any faster atm.

In the PSN Store, go to Downloads. Destiny should be there and you should be able to start the download from there.

After downloading those 2 files the first install file needs to connect to PSN to download the 11GB itself. How stupid is that? Thats all the connection errors. Its like you have to get lucky to redeem, download the 2 install files and then finally to download the rest of it.

What a mess.

store > games > click through all the top level menus, it's the first entry

They can plan for this, but the BETA is a demo, and bandwidth/servers for this kind of spike is very fucking pricy and not worth it.

Didn't need to ever BE a spike though. Plan ahead, and send the codes out in batches over a few days. Not rocket science.

If you redeem your code and then get an error out when trying to start your download, and then can't find the download in XMB. You can restart the download in the PSN Store Downloads tab. Here...

Go to Destiny, hit X, and then X again to start the download.
