It can get in line.

Mecha Ridley would also be cool.
mind fixing the broken/banned link in the quote of mine?

Since we're talking about it, might as well drop this again - possible alt colors for Ridley if he were playable, shoddily photoshopped together by yours truly:

I would probably add Nintendo Land Ridley's color scheme as well but I'm a lazy fuck, so eh.

Would find it pretty funny if tomorrow the pic of the day mentioned another video on Monday.

"There's only a few left, but there's not going to be any directs soon so we're just gonna show them off now."

I would at the very least expect veterans to show up more in the coming weeks.

Smashgaf would implode.

rly, this thread was created just 4 days ago

It feels like we haven't seen a lot of stages, but then I look at the list and realize we have quiet a few they're just split evenly between the two games

It would be like " a new character will be revealed at comic con " and then everyone goes nuts.

I'm allergic to them, so you're not alone :p

How has nobody posted it?

Pic of the day. We have Nintendogs plus cats! How could we forget them!! Just FYI, there are about five dog breeds in this game. This was me, reporting from the 3DS-exclusive stage, Living Room.

CAAAAATS

Why do people act like the email about Shulk was a nail in the coffin? The night before the reveal, Sal got an email that said: "Enjoy my good friend Shulk!" While yes this would imply Shulk is going to be revealed in the event....the leaker followed up the next morning with

"As I'm sure most of ya know, the leaker e-mailed me last night teasing Shulk.

He also e-mailed me again this morning saying Nintendo keeps a lot secret from Bandai Namco, and that Sakurai may change his mind as he does all the time, but that Shulk was 100%.

A quote: "I only know what has been done, not what or when they will be made available. Sakurai may change his mind, and he does all the time. Shulk will not be changed."

I've e-mailed him about the lack of Shulk, as well as the whole Chrom being a Final Smash thing. I'll update if I get a response.

Still finding it hard to believe. 8 for 11 is no easy task. I wonder what he has to say."

This email was before the video hit, and the leaker explained that while Shulk is for sure happening, he doesnt know when. He also said the other characters (Chrom and Chorus Men) are subject to change, as the information he knows on these characters were not clear enough, as Sakurai tried his best to keep them a secret.

Other M Metroid soundtracks? Please no. Get some Kenji Yamamoto tunes instead.
Please point out to me Ganondorf and Master Hand. All I see are dubious depictions of Bowser and Ridley in a split-second screen capture.

Am I seriously arguing about this in 2014?

Well we've seen 15 new stages for the Wii U version, and the same for the 3DS version, plus 3 returning stages for both (Battle Field, Final Destination, and a unique returning stage for each). So in total we know of 34 stages so far.

so this is like what, selfcest?
exteme narcisscim?

Next level masturbation.

We've had stage music before that wasn't catchy.
Remember Environmental Noises from Pikmin?
Plus, we don't know for sure what they played there is going to be stage music. Most of the music used in the Smash Direct was from Brawl or Melee, only very few things that weren't from either, including the trophy bits.

Recognizability (is that even a word?)/memorability is also fairly subjective. It's true that most of Other M's music is more about being atmospheric rather than catchy, but I find some of the music fairly memorable, even though not catchy.
The Biosphere Jungle, for instance. Could recognize that easily out of the soundtrack. King Kihunter's theme probably too. Most of the boss themes are fairly unique.
Gotta disagree. Other M's boss music is completely forgettable outside Ridley and maybe the Desbrachian beat. The worst part was the extreme reuse; Nightmare getting Goyagma's theme instead of a remix of his own signature theme was horrible. The Prime games had unique music for important bosses, Fusion had unique tracks for important bosses, and somehow Other M reuses generic tracks for Nightmare and Phantoon. Fucking dreadful.

I really wanna see a new star fox and f-zero stage

I hope we get an F-Zero stage that isn't just travelling along a rip of one of the tracks. I know that's about as likely as not having a Metroid stage with lava/acid, and there's not really a ton of material to work with, but I just want to see some shiny new F-Zero assets.

I’ve been snooping around on Japanese Twitter and found scans of all of Sakurai’s Famitsu columns dating back to the game’s reveal! They contain quite a few never before seen screens (including what looks to be Pac-Man’s neutral air, a body splash). I’m sure there’s a lot of interesting developmental insight, too, but there’s a way too much text to parse through. Maybe someone with a lot of time on their hands would be willing to translate some of it. Three or four of the columns were summarized by Kotaku, but none of them have been translated in their entirety.

(Interestingly enough, in the first column after last year’s E3, Sakurai talks about non-fighters like Wii Fit Trainer and compares them to Fox and Falcon in the original game.)

Stage based on Death Wind with this music please.

I wish I knew Japanese.
