Finally was able to kick off a remote download to my PS4. Hoping it will be ready when I get home

It'll only download the shell i.e. 50MB or so file (don't remember the number). You have to open the game to download the rest of 10GB.

STEP 1. REDEEM CODE HERE: www.bungie.net/beta

STEP 2: Enter the 9 digit code. IF you have a 12 digit code then it belongs on PSN and not here.

STEP 3: Go to your Bungie Profile here: www.bungie.net/en/profile

STEP 4: Click on "Codes" (Third tab on top).

A. TTP stated: "Go to Noifications > Downloads. There should be a Destiny Beta notification with an error symbol. Delete that. Go to Library. You should now be able to download the beta".

Q. I've tried everything and nothing is working. Help!
A. Restart the console and log back in. Try for 10 minutes. If it doesn't work, Restart and repeat. It'll eventually work after the 10th or the 100th or the 200th try. Server sucks so bare with it. Be upset if you like but be patient.

Q. I'm on Xbox. Does any of this apply to me?
A. Redeeming 9 digit code applies to you!

Q. I tried it all! SAVE ME!
A. Access your downloads list and try remote download. Go here: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/download/list and try remotely downloading to your PS4. A lot of users were successful with this. You still have to launch the game and download the 10GB update. Good luck!

Crucible is not immediately available, it seems. I'm also level 3 and haven't unlocked it yet, all I have is Tower and Earth available on the the orbit screen.

It unlocks at Level 5. Then you have to accept the Invitation from Shaxx in the Tower.

That'll be a bummer, someone told me it downloads everything at the system level and installs it when you run the app, if that's not the case, guess I'll be playing tomorrow instead.

If you have someone at home, give em a ring and ask them start the Destiny App on your PS4 and then have them hit X and you should be good by the time you get home!

For those who are trying to download remotely from the PSN store website, log in with your account. Type Destiny Beta in the search, As long as you pre-ordered the digital version on the PSN store, the beta should be an option next to the full version. Click the cart to add to your cart, complete the free purchase, and then select download to PS4

Pity they use an in game downloading method to patch or DL game data. The initial download and update were lightning on PSN but in game now and the installing/downloading is slow.

Actually, before I started the Beta, I pressed Options > Information and it showed the download was still going. At the time it was like 862MB/12GB or so.

Then I started the Beta and got the splash screen with "Transferring Game Content".

So, I don't think you need to start it for it to download completely. I think they basically are "pre-loading" just enough to get the game to boot and see the pretty splash screen and music.

Short impressions after playing for a couple of hours:

- Player characters speak in cutscenes, holy shit.

- Dinklage still sounds terrible even with the filter.

- The story seems really, really silly.

- I'll likely play Destiny for more hours than any other video game since WoW.

I didn't play the alpha but he doesn't sound that bad to me. I'm really enjoying the shooting this is what I wanted out of next gen Halo. I can already tell I'm gonna spend tons of time playing this game.

you download the client to download the game, so basically is not the same because the download is running as a program not as a background service

Just started playing on my vita and either I'm an idiot or there is no way to sprint while playing this on remote play, which makes it unplayable. Maybe there is a way to sprint and I just haven't figured it out.

This game is nothing short of incredible. I never knew I wanted a MMO/FPS hybrid until I played this beta, it's awesome.

Hunters for the win, even though they can't dance for shit haha. I was sold on this game the moment I saw two players standing next to each other and I jumped in front of them and started dancing. So silly but so awesome at the same time.
