I hope we get an F-Zero stage that isn't just travelling along a rip of one of the tracks. I know that's about as likely as not having a Metroid stage with lava/acid, and there's not really a ton of material to work with, but I just want to see some shiny new F-Zero assets.
Believe in Groose
That would be almost as bad as including tingle.
I haven't beaten skyward sword yet but I can't imagine any amount of Linebecking at the last minute would cause me to stop wishing death and suffering upon Groose.
Guys we may have overlooked some characters from the Metroid that could acts as newcomers instead of Ridley.
Metroid Prime Hunters had 6 unique characters that Sakruai could use without turning them into a Samus clone.
So I am starting to rethink that it might be either them or Ridley.

You may reconsider your decision

Simply because Prime Hunters was a pretty mediocre spin-off (of a spin-off series no less), and all of the characters were specifically designed to be Samus clones, with minor differences (particularly the aesthetics), since Hunters was primarily devised as a multiplayer game. None of the characters appeared outside of that game, either. There is speculation Sylux's ship appeared in the ending of Prime 3 upon achieving 100% item collection, but the ships just look similar, and are not identical, which means it's arguable whether it was Sylux or not in that scene.
If Sakurai were to introduce a character that isn't Ridley, I think Rundas, Ghor or Gandrayda would be better choices than any of the Hunters characters, alternatively a soldier from Other M (Adam or Anthony seem to be the popular choices here) and of course Dark Samus, who already is out due to being an AT.
After that, beyond making a generic enemy type playable (a space pirate or a Zeta Metroid or something), there's not much else left.
Depends, I finished the game but I still don't care for Groose. That is gonna be some pulitzer-prize-winning character development there, then.

One gaaaaaamePeople who think Sheik deserves to be replaced confuse and upset me.
I would love to see Impa with Hyrule Warrior moveset tho.

Actually i'd like an Impa Gaiden game too now.
Out of that list I could only see Tingle or Impa making it in. There are other options like another incarnation of Zelda and Ganondorf but I think those two would be the most interesting. I could see Tingle working well for Smash since he has had 3 spin off games in addition to his roles in the mainline games. His characteristics and gameplay could work well and offer something different and quirky in the same vein as Mr. G&W and Jigglypuff. Although I'd prefer Impa. There's many options. Impa, Ghirahim, Demise, Tingle, heck even Agitha could be dropped in given her appearance in Hyrule Warriors.![]()
Impa still has things that she could do that Sheik couldnt like being a shadow sage. She could draw on skill sets from OoT, HW and SS.If this world was a good world, Impa would've replaced Shiek.
I thought it would've been obvious, she's far more timeless than Shiek, but apparently not.
How far did you get? Groose turns into a pretty good character after the opening section. That would be almost as bad as including tingle.

Stan Lee writes his way to the battle
Does no reveals at EVO really mean no reveals at SDCC, though? EVO is big to fighting fans, but SDCC (while not my cup of tea) is huge on a multimedia and pop cultural level. Heck, Entertainment Weekly in the U.S. covers it extensively, and that's as maintstream as you get. If Nintendo were to pick an event this summer, outside E3, to make noise about their new game, SDCC would seem like a good venue for it. It helps get the word out, beyond the enthusiasts, to other geeks who may have liked past SSB games and Nintendo in general, but who don't follow the company religiously like we do.

I honestly thought Groose was going to turn out to be Ganon...

Sheik has one of the best designs in the series and has been a mainstay for two games now.I will continue to confuse and upset you then. I would've vastly preferred Impa. I understand Shiek's important to Smash, but especially now that she's a completely separate character, Impa would've been a perfect replacement.
They've had a one-off appearance in a spin-off, and they're 8 years old now. I don't think they stand out enough to get in Smash.Guys we may have overlooked some characters from the Metroid that could acts as newcomers instead of Ridley.

One game concept I've had in my head for years was a stealth action game that starred Zelda instead of Link. She would transform into Sheik and infiltrate Ganondorf's (or whomever's) bases to gather intel on their plans of war.
I guess Impa could also be that character.
Which happens to be the game. OoT's the most important game in the series' history; by that measure, Shiek's role in that one game is correspondingly more important than Impa's roles in all the other games.

Impa doesn't deserve a cut and paste moveset, anyways, especially when she has so much more to draw from and especially if it were to the exception of Sheik. It'd be like saying Sami should just have Snake's moveset because close enough, right?

I'm not sure it'd be so 1:1. SS Impa looks like two feet taller and 50 percent thinner. But I admittedly don't know their heights and weights, so -- *shrugs*Impa in Skyward Sword would be a PERFECT Sheik Alt. They are like.. the same friggin character. Same builds, very similar appearances, both Sheikah. Everything Sheik does in SSB I could see SS Impa doing.
