Anyone is going to play the game with one of those two controllers?

Unless those have a switch that allows the D-Pad to simulate the left analog stick, that probably won't even be possible. And, even if it was, Smash doesn't really work all that well with a D-Pad. Game was designed around the analog stick.

Tilting must be hard using a dpad. I'm sticking to the pad in my avatar

I don't think you can. Plugging those in tells the system you're using a 'classic controller,' so smash defaults to using the joystick, no? Since they don't have a joystick, they don't work.

Will smash let you remap movement to D pad if you want? I've never tried.

I see you missed my point entirely, namely that you don't get to tell people what they do or don't like and call them liars when they say they like something. Welcome to the ignore list.

If you like Brawl Ness but don't enjoy PM Ness then you're either a person who enjoys objectively worse characters or you prefer the Brawl engine, which has nothing to do with the uniqueness of a character's moves, which is what the original discussion was about.

Also some of you guys will ignore people for the stupidest shit, like seriously, jesus christ.

i don't think there's remap option in smash

Speaking of Ness, are they going to change his recovery?
because with so much things happening on the screen, is going to be very hard to keep track of Pk Thunder on the 3DS.

While I do like the form without the sticks it... seems weird..

Also.. I can't help but wonder that Little Mac shirt seems "odd" here specially around the arms and neck :/

The weird clipping around his neck and arms only seems to occur in the Wii U model, but it's really obvious. What is it, anyway? Something to do with face culling?

The black parts of the shirt are solid and they have his neck and arm geometry going through it which can make some odd looking intersection areas. Not something you'd probably notice normally like a lot of the little clipping that happens.

I noticed that, too. The little lines running around the arm and neck holes make it look like a sweater vest.

It depends on how the Thunder moves. In Brawl, you didn't even have to look at the screen to do Ness's recovery: most of the time, as soon as the Thunder comes out, rotate the control stick roughly 180 degrees and you'll get launched back onto the stage. As long as they keep its arc rough;y the same, it should be no problem.

Maybe they can fix that by release? the 3DS model looks OK

I didn't know that

Going to the gym in a vest! LOL

His arm is floopy floppy

Yoga Fit Little Mac confirmed

Anyone else think Mac's arms are too long?

It's just to accentuate the main aspect of the character, it makes his animations look really over-exaggerated to set the fact that he's a character that just punches apart from any other character that has punching attacks.

That's the way I take it anyway.

Or it's just a poor rigging lol.

No, that's not possible.

Little Mac's portrayal as a boxer here is pretty disappointing. Too many instances where he has bad form.

Now I've heard it all :p

I think, like JoeInky said, his animations are weird or exaggerated to emphasize that he's a ground-based, punch-centered character. Maybe "proper form" is insufficiently flashy for a Smash game.

If he had proper form, he wouldn't look distinct enough visually to other characters who have neutral attacks where they punch.

It also helps separate his attacks from each other and the fact that he's a ground based character means he would need good reach on his moves which means they need to be exaggerated further.

It just bugs me when I see a boxer not applying basic stuff. His footwork in particular is so sloppy.

I mean, I get why they went with that, but I was hoping for them to at least be more faithful to the sport. Punch Out character first, boxer second I guess.

Dude can punch a sword I think he's doing just fine

I think part of the reason he's even a playable character is because sakurai figured he could still pull off the character whilst making him visually interesting/unique, he might not have even been included if he thought the best way to include the character was similar to the Brawl assist trophy, too boring in a game like Smash.
