Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 10: Against the Odds, We Choose to Hype!

I don't see why. I know people are saying that they've spotted differences in the more recent demo, but it's unusual for them to make any changes to a demo version once they have it out. That would take some time away from the development of the game itself, and no one wants to do that when they're this close to release.
I dunno, just sorta figure that if they're gonna be holding a streamed tournament with the same style as the Invitational (unique player holds unique character and keeps it throughout) than there should probably be more playable characters than were available in the E3 3DS demo.

Maybe there'll just be less competitors though.

I didn't say I believe the Dojo rumor. I just like some of its ideas and like to fancy a "what if" where Dixie and Takamaru make the cut.

that last sentence really makes it unbelievable. A Q&A guy or a journalist might leak the roster but he sure as hell won't know about any coro coro business.

Plus, Coro Coro just confirmed that they are going to covering on ALL ANNOUNCED characters, NOT FULL STARTER ROSTER.

I'm not saying I believe it, although I don't think that bit invalidates it. It's just another rumor on the Internet. Probably false, but maybe there's something to it, so I share. :-)

Thanks for sharing :), i'm always thinking about who would leak something and someone that speaks english and knows about the Coro Coro stuff would certainly be a higher up and i don't see them risking their jobs writing a leak text for a smash site.

I'm just concerned it won't be easy to find them. That they might be under-stocked or only the popular characters will be given decent supply.

I think they all will be decently supplied if the demand is there. If not then you wouldn't have to spend too much above retail price to get the one you're looking for.

Yeah, why are people giving that dojo rumour any credence? Has that site/source been right in the past?

Nope, Dojo always collected all rumors from any sites, so technically dojo don't have any credences

The impending global release of The Mysterious Murasame Castle must mean something, damn it! IT MUST!

heh

I don't pay heed to any information without images to dissect.

I'm kind of sad that my Palutena/Waluigi/Ridley fusion isn't going to make the cut.

Well, there's credence to it. When talking about why he added Robin, Sakurai brought up the fact that saw in Robin the potential to showcase a lot about what makes FE unique. He could only really come up with that moveset and know the potential by having an intimate relationship with the series.

Sakurai is a huge fan of FE. Instead of having Iwata do the "iwata asks" interviews with the FE team for Shadow Dragon, Sakurai himself volunteered to do it and moderated the entire discussion.

It's not that surprising, really. Think about it, if you were making a fighting game with a bunch of series in it, including series that you didn't know very well, which characters would be more fleshed out? Most likely the ones you actually knew all the details about. You'd miss details on the one you were less versed in.
I see.

So that's why Sakurai thinks Metroid takes place in a giant lava pit and Donkey Kong takes places in a generic jungle over a river.

Toon link, sheik, and yoshi weren't at the invitational, so I think it's fine to hold the first-ever 3DS tournament

Because they're fun to speculate upon and flip out on if true!

I think speculation is more fun when it's not anchored down to some other random dude's speculation trying to pass as fact.

And when I flip out about characters or stages it's because they're in the game, not because someone predicted they would be.

Just my take. I guess it doesn't really matter.

I know it could easily be nothing, but man it could also be something

First we get Takamaru's Ninja Castle in Nintendo Land, and then VC release of The Mysterious Murasame Castle in English-speaking territories...

Has it been announced for America yet? If not, I will dream that they're saving it for Takamaru's Smash announcement.

I demand a leak that claims we get Anna, Viridi, Hades, and Seven.

Okay

Guys my father's brother's nephew's cousin's former room mate works at Nintendo and is developing Smash. Though that makes our relationship nothing he just drop some BIG new for Smash

Spaceballs?

Not yet. I choose to believe they are waiting for something big to tie the Wii U Virtual Console release to.

Who wants to join me in dressing up as banchou and cornering Sakurai in an alley after work? We'll crack our fists menacingly and then test his knowledge of Metroid Prime trivia.

When he inevitably reveals his only familiarity with the series is by way of "Samus fan art," we'll let him go, but not without a warning: "Two days to Ridley, Sakurai. Two days."

Hell, Roy debuted in Smash before appearing his own game. Fire Emblem has deep ties to Smash.

i might be the only hardcore smash fan who doesn't root for any particular character to get included in 4. Ridley is in? Cool! He's not? Who cares!

As long as it's a Nintendo character I'm cool.

Nah, he's pretty familiar with Metroid Prime 2 now. Guy perfectly recreated Dark Samus' moveset and referenced the Light Suit.

Only stupid decision was making another lava pit stage, because I am sick of lava pits.

Someone please post various fan art of Lucina
Check out /v/, there are most likely at least 3-4 active waifu threads on there, 1 Fire Emblem thread, and 3 Smash threads where you can post about waifus to your hearts content and trade lewd Lucina fan art. If you're truly desperate I can PM you links to doujins, I'm sure they are easy to find.

Well, until proven fake, it's fun to see if it turns out to be true, or to think of reasons why it can't be true, or to just enjoy their good ideas and laugh at their bad ones.

Once proven fake, it's some interesting insight into the mind of another smash fan and what they thought was probable/possible or what they thought people would like to hear.

I'm still waiting for the game to be release for America.

It is only on the 3DS in Europe as well. I refuse to believe this is just normal Nintendo slowness and not a calculated cross-promotion tactic.

We used to talk about it because we were in a 3DS game drought. We had... pilotwings, vanilla steel diver, street fighter... and face raiders.
But surely if you just got the system you'd still play it even out of curiosity. How can you ignore that icon with the crazy 3D logo.

3-4 sounds like a conservative estimation

No, no, the ComicCon tourney is open to anyone, and there's no limitations on characters. It's nothing like the Invitational.

Why would he not be able to? He's been the all rounder in every game, jack of all trades, master of none.

A bunch of characters having gimmicks doesn't really mean anything to him.
sorry for the late response but here's my point

Mario is becoming extremely limited. For example, he has one projectile and one reflector. Some have multiple of one or both; among other crazy skills (Rosalina, Pulutena, Robin, etc).

To me he's not well rounded anymore. Some characters have far too much long-range or short-range advantage for that to be the case. Mario's nickname is Jumpman but jumping in Smash is absolutely mediocre.

I just dont't see the "all-around-ness" this time. He needs an edge somewhere.
