Shadow Dragon/FE11 is a remake of the first Fire Emblem. Gameplay-wise, it was heavily revamped, but they did little to add to the story, aside from some really screwed up optional chapters (you had to lose units to get to them), so, there were no support conversations, which were first added in FE6. Characters still could build bonds by fighting together and gain bonuses from it, but there was no dialogue at all. FE10 had already toned it down storywise though, by reducing the supports to generic conversations, like the shinning tile bond quotes in Awakening, rather than actual character interaction and development. FE12 (remake of FE3) brought back support conversations, but in a limited way (most of them only for the avatar, endings couldn't be changed by them anymore, so no real romance, just teasing at best), and then FE13 brought them back to their FE7-8 level, in addition to tying them to the generation system.

I've only ever seen small clips and it's one of my favorite things.
In order to capitalize on GotG popularity, the next star fox will be a reboot origin story where they're all fugitives from the law

Whoa, this thread is moving way too fast for me to keep up with the limited NeoGAF time I have! Has there been some big news, or is it all just discussion about Masked Man's Little Mac column translation (shots fired by Sakurai!) and music we want in?
Regarding the column, HELL YES. He said exactly what I wanted to hear. Smash should be about fun above all else, and considering every Smash game to date has been very unbalanced (including and especially Melee), this shouldn't piss anyone off who already calls themselves a Smash fan, including Melee tourney players. A focus on a cast of unique and interesting characters before overall balance is literally nothing new for this series, and while I would like Smash 4 to be as balanced as possible, I don't ever want it to come at the cost of having interesting characters with movesets that are faithful to the source game. I really love Sakurai's design philosophies, and this column just makes me even MORE hyped for Smash 4... if that's even possible.
Thanks for doing the gods' work, Masked Man.Can't wait to see what you translate next - but don't bend over backwards, of course!
As for music, if I had to choose just one track from any represented series so far... god, that's hard, but I'd probably have to go with the Wily Castle theme from Mega Man 5, or maybe the one from Mega Man 4:

nichijou (my ordinary life) is hilarious. Anyone who likes anime/slice of life should watch it.
As for smash bros. The new characters have me really excited for the game. I didn't think Sakurai would go with Robin, but I'm really glad he did. If it was only Lucina or only Chrom I wouldn't care too much. But I'm ok with having Lucina in since Robin is there too. Honestly, I don't even care how many clones make it into the game now. The number of unique characters is very high. And not just unique in terms of not being based off another character. There are some really interesting movesets and gimmicks. Rosalina and Luma. Robin. Villager. Mega Man. Little Mac. etc.

The main problem I have with ROB is that he's not inspired enough by the actual robotic operating buddy and the games that you can play with it. He seems more like "Smash Bros. robot with ROB's appearance"
Yeah, idk either. ROB is a fun character imo, and was a super cool inclusion. I always had wanted a ROB when I was a kid. Plus he's also a significant piece of Nintendo's history. Without ROB, we'd probably not have Smash, or most of the characters in it.
If I were Sakurai I would get rid of the lasers and boosters and focus on making ROB seem more toy like. His entire moveset would be "toy" themed. I'd make the gyro his nspecial, make the rotor arms his uspecial, make his dspecial stack-up related, and make his fspecial related to one of his two games. Also, I'd make him smaller (about Kirby/Olimar size), a little more AI and a little less human.

I really like the story about Samus's vault. She's filthy rich and she's still a bounty hunter.
Also I'm really hankering for a Captain N game, mostly due to Valiant's work.

New stages at the absolute most. It's way too early for new veteran reveals, and new demos would be too much.
Considering we're already past 10k post, it needed to slow down lol.
Nintendo teased "special surprises" for the E3 invitational, too. Guest appearances and giveaways qualify for that description. I don't think there will be any character reveals at SDCC, if that's what you're getting at.

I want to point out that I'm very happy some people at Nintendo mandated/very vocal for new playable females for Smash 4. They've gone above and beyond from when they started out with Samus, Peach, Zelda, half an Ice Climber and accessorized Jigglypuff in 2001. And in only took 13 YEARS LOL to add in legitimate female newbies that aren't canonically the same person like Sheik/ZSS with Rosalina, Palutena, and Lucina along with great bonus avatar additions with with Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Robin, and Mii's.
Even better now, my little nieces can finally discover Zero Suit Samus the easy way and stop having to resort to choosing just Peach, Zelda, Jigglypuff, Kirby, or "Lesbian Angel" as they nicknamed Pit when Smash 4 comes.
