They've gone above and beyond from when they started out with Samus, Peach, Zelda, half an Ice Climber and accessorized Jigglypuff in 2001. And in only took 13 YEARS LOL to add in legitimate female newbies that aren't canonically the same person like Sheik/ZSS with Rosalina, Palutena, and Lucina along with great bonus avatar additions with with Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Robin, and Mii's.

Even better now, my little nieces can finally discover Zero Suit Samus the easy way and stop having to resort to choosing just Peach, Zelda, Jigglypuff, Kirby, or "Lesbian Angel" as they nicknamed Pit when Smash 4 comes.

Any of Xenoblade's 7 party members could be a great Smash Bros. character. In most games it's maybe 1-3 characters. It's awful having to choose from this cast.

-Shulk and Reyn are best bros so they could represent the series as a team.
-Dunban is the best fighter of the group and once used the Monado so he's pretty notable for that.
-Riki arguably has the best moveset of the entire group.
-As for the 7th character
I wish Fiora could keep her abilities without the Mechon look
-Melia and Sharla are powerful in their own right but the other characters have a tiny bit more priority.
 
NichiGAF out in full force. Also, Eula's post is pretty spot on minus young family members calling characters lesbians. :P

My three sisters always said they'd probably get into Smash more if there were more female characters that weren't dainty maidens or were OP as fuck. I don't know about the former, but between Palutena, FemRobin, Wii Fit Trainer (mostly because of the old memes) and Rosalina (who weirdly gets a pass because "Lumas are adorable"), everyone in the family has a handful of characters they get hype for.

The best bits of comedy in Nichijou are the short exaggerated takes pn common misfortunes you can go through. Mechanical pencils are the devil.
 
Lucina works so much better as a Marth clone, because she dressed like him and used his fighting style.

Chrom as a clone would make way less sense, not that that has stopped Sakurai before (Ganondorf).

Haha, I really hope that if Chorus Kids are in, or any Rhythm Heaven character, we'll get something like this. It's absolutely perfect.

If Snake actually does end up getting cut, I hope they do a similar "Codec" thing with the Kid Icarus Uprising crew. I mean, with all the characters it has, it could work really well.

Have Pit be on the stage and let Palutena or another Uprising character comment on one of the fighters on the field. The fact that Palutena herself is an actual playable fighter would make for some quirky dialogue (though it'd probably be just reused voice clips from her trailer).
 
I wonder how beneficial will Smash prove to be for Fire Emblem. I think that I'm not the only one that got interested to many other lesser known franchises after a SSB game. Of course, it's somewhat difficult to name FE as "unknown" after Awakening but still it's certainly not at the same level of recognition as Zelda, Pokemon or even Metroid. With four reps and 2 stages, FE's presence in the game is quite remarkable.
