The dude with GB is pretty much me. I'm dying for a third DK character regardless if it's K. Rool or not.
I've read somewhere that Nintendo takes everything back. Like, everything. Though where I've heard that from I can't recall.
Much like Disney. They take back all the movie posters and promo materials too.
I'd love to own some of the cool promo stuff like that though. It'd look nice.

That trailer was made to toy with everybody's emotions, it starts out with kirby whilst kirby air ride was playing which the people who played that game instantly recognized and freaked out, and then it cuts to him going to rainbow road and now everyone is thinking "kirby in MK?!" it was crazy.
Reminds me of the shop guy from Aladdin.

I was bored and started watching more live reactions for the Monday reveal. Too much "loo-chee-nuh" and not knowing who the hell Robin is. I got into Fire Emblem because of Melee; hopefully this iteration gets more people into the series.

All of them other than Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and Metroid... Well, technically I didn't play EarthBound because of Smash but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't know the series at all if Ness wasn't in the game.

I dont think I knew where Ness was from until some years later after smash64, before tha I just accepted him and also thought he looked cool.

as a live reaction connoseiur let me tell you a few things:
a) multiple person reactions in person are top tier
b) multiple person reactions over skype are mid tier and often unsynced with horrible audio quality
c) single person reactions are almost always horrible and feel faked even when real, with very few notable exceptions
blacknerdcomedy or gaming or whatever has top tier material but doesn't really do live reactions i think

Pretty sure I've posted this before the last few times we had this discussion lol
(except Pokemon, which is why I got Smash in the first place).
I uh... can't think of a franchise (other than fire emblem, for obvious reasons) that I didn't play BEFORE they were represented in smash bros. And even then, I only played fire emblem because it was a free game in the ambassador program (and then i learned to love it).

Disney doesn't reclaim posters or advertising materials. Technically any studio can, but none of them do. Disney has a stock of rarer materials like lenticulars and vintage posters they will distribute for rereleases, but that's all.

I knew Kirby because Dreamland 2 was one of my favorite games of all time. Why couldn't modern Kirby be as tricky and hard?

I don't think I even knew who Samus was before Melee because I'd never owned a Nintendo console before the N64 (not counting GBC because handheld) and Metroid was basically on hiatus from Super Metroid to Prime. I think I knew Kirby beforehand because I had one of the GBA games but I might of gotten the game because of Smash. So I didn't know anyone on the Melee roster who wasn't from Mario, Star Fox, Zelda or Pokemon.

The first time I saw ROB was his "cameo" in F-Zero GX, but got more familiar with the character in MKDS. I thought it was awesome when he was revealed for Brawl.
The only characters I didn't know about in Brawl were Ike, Lucas and Pit.

I think Ness and Samus were the only characters I didn't know in the original. From Melee on there have been quite a few I didn't know about before: Game and Watch, Marth, Roy, Ice Climbers, Ike, Lucas, Pit. Of course, I had become a forum dweller by that time and heard characters mentioned and read wikipedia pages and such, but had no personal experience with their games.

I went around saying Samus was Captain Falcon's brother. Oh man.
One of my friends convinced sixth-grade me that in Ocarina of Time, if you caught the Big Poes in a certain order, it'd trigger a special cutscene where Ganondorf chopped up Epona into bits and pieces and dumped them into the moat outside Castle Town. There was another rumor, from him or another friend, where Link would have sex with Zelda, complete with low-poly fiddlybits. Can't remember the requirements, though.

Legitimately thought Ness was that Painter kid I saw a kid fight against in Kirby 64. Thought Samus was dude in a suit and Falcon were bros.

I don't get that stuff AT ALL. I like to think i'm open to different types of comedy, but damn, I don't get the appeal.
I remember when Melee was about to come out, I was on some forum and saw the thread title "ROY IN SMASH BROS." And I thought, "YES! Roy Koopa is in the game!" And then I clicked the link and saw low-res footage of Fire Emblem Roy in Corneria, and I was like, "Wat." But then I saw him do his OHKO move and I was like, "SOLD."

I remem ber founding out about mewtwo in melee, I think it was before I was even fully aware of the gamecube, I forgot exactly how I ended up there but I was on the melee website and saw mewtwo and freaked my shit hard, and I was thinking how he had a "kamehameha" with the shadow ball, That made my day I tell ya what
I remember years ago reading about how Disney got super upset about a dying kid getting a poster or something from a movie theater. Looks like that story was made up as I can't find it on the Internet anymore.
So it's very possible that Nintendo doesn't take everything back too I suppose. There's hope left for a unique Smash Bros. setup.
