US/CAN Club Nintendo Thread: New and improved. Read the OP.

In news of CN weirdness that's not the Platinum... there's Intend to Buy surveys for a downloadable version of Wii Sports Club, and for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3DS game.

The hell is going on there?

Guys I need help ASAP. I was doing a trade with Zing.

His $10 eshop credit for me sending him the Animal Crossing poster set for 500 points. I went and redeemed the eshop credit then went immediately to club nintendo. I can change the shipping address, but it is stuck on USA and I can't change it to Canada to where Zing is located at.

What do we do?

Unfortunately you can't get items shipped to countries outside of the one you chose when signing up.

You could try contacting Nintendo Support and lie to them about moving to Canada, but it wouldn't be worth it.

Not sure...May be easier to just ship them to your home address and then just reship them out to him yourself. Just don't open the package and slap a new label on the front. Maybe Zing will pay the extra shipping cost?

I'm surprised it let you redeem the $10 eshop credit if Zing is from Canada. Was it DDP vouchers, because that's interesting if you can exchange CAD ones for USD to basically get slightly more money.

If you happen to have 500 coins in PIN codes, maybe you could just give the PIN codes to Zing to order the poster set in Canada.

You could try making a new family sub account and entering a new mailing address from there to redeem it. Not sure if that works, but worth a chance trying.

It was one $10 eshop credit which means it wasn't DDP. If USA can redeem Canada eshop credit; yet I can't send posters to Canada, what the hell is that?

I dont have any spare pin codes as I've always entered them whenever i get them.

We both just tried that. I can create a sub account, but when going to redeem coins for a prize, it defaults to USA with zero way of changing it.å

Besides something amazing like the SNES Classic Controller, the full Xenoblade Soundtrack, Mother 3 translated DKCR is the best possible reward for me personally. Hell I even filled out the intend to buy when it came out but never felt any pressing need to buy it.

Maybe just pay Zing back the $10 with Paypal or something then.

Not possible to just mail them to him, yourself, when you get them?

I'm not that stressed about it. He is going to call Nintendo tomorrow. I think at the very least they could change the primary address on their end. Then he could order the posters, and call at some future date to change the address back.

That would make shipping time go from 3 days to 3 weeks, and cost him around $8 to ship.

I'm just going to call Nintendo tomorrow. I need to discuss something anyways with my family sub account about my niece.

If all else fails, I'll send him a $10 eshop credit or paypal...but I don't know how I was able to redeem a canada eshop card anyways

It's weird that it would work, as I know Canadians can't redeem US ones on the Canadian eShop, and the irony is the C$ is worth less than the US$ right now. If true, Americans should stock up on Canadian eShop cards, lol.

3D Classics: Kid Icarus is better than all of the Club Nintendo Elite rewards this year except for maybe Super Mario Bros.

I love how on the Club Nintendo homepage there's the big icon saying "GET A FREE WII U GAME WHEN YOU REGISTER MARIO KART 8!"

Spend $50 on a game, get the best Pikmin game or the best NSMB game or one of the best Zelda games. Drop half a grand on the company over the course of the year, and here! You can have a goddam NES game you've already played for two decades or a downgraded port of a Wii game, and you can goddam like it too because fuck you and your ancestors.

There is no conceivable way that there are more Club Nintendo Platinum members than there are Mario Kart 8 owners.

I always thought 3D Classics were just straight remakes of games with 3D, and I was under the impression the original Kid Icarus kind of sucked.

Difference is they know they already have platinum members roped into buying all their products. I guess they have no fear about losing platinum members as customers, even if they may lose us as Club Nintendo members. I don't even think Club Nintendo was supposed to be about rewarding us for buying games so much as rewarding us for our time and effort on the surveys, and they probably have more Club Nintendo members than they need at this point. The MK8 promo was aimed at getting new Wii U customers, and probably the only reason the rest of us get it is like an ambassador thing to avoid making every early adopter resist being an early adopter of their next system.

Seemed to take slightly longer than usual to show up for me.

Top Hat, I could help Zing out, as I'm interested in the NES Remix code, I should be able to get him the poster, AND I'm in Canada. :)
My girlfriend decided she also wanted a set of the posters, so I have PM'd you.

I'm also trying to scrounge up some coins. I'm looking into the "free" coins from demos and downloadable apps. The only legit source I have is a 3DS Mario Tennis code, but I am planning on trading or selling the game, so I was trying to keep that code unused.

I called Nintendo this morning and because my account was set up with a USA address that I cannot ship anything to anyone who lives outside of the USA. Even though Canada and USA use the same Club Nintendo website; apparently on the back end when you create an account it goes to two different systems depending upon the country you reside it; USA or Canada.

So unfortunately I'm not able to ship Zing the animal crossing posters. I can refund him the $10 eshop card, by going out and buying one, or paypal, or make it up with a ton of digital rewards.

I've already conveyed to Zing the situation, but I wanted to be out and open on here as well to show the situation that occured.

Alternatively, if any other person in the USA wants an animal crossing poster or the pink 3DS XL pouch (both are 500 coins), they can send me the money and Top Hat can order the item for them. :) He still has those coins to spend!

With Paper Mario available as a Club Nintendo redeemable reward I've been considering getting it but here's where my questions come in.

How likely is it that Nintendo is going to ever have N64 titles on the Wii U eShop?

I have no intention of playing it in Wii mode at the moment, but I would if there was absolutely no chance of N64 titles coming. So would it be a good idea to get the game for coins now and just pay the "upgrade fee" later?

Supposedly it is going to happen but the absence of any information after nearly two years is admittedly worrying.

Yeah, given that their VC focus if anything seems to be on GBA and DS games, I think it's getting less likely by the day. And to think I once felt so sure we'd see GCN games on Wii U VC....

No clue when N64 Virtual Consoles are hitting the Wii U. No words bin given in recent memory. Not sure if it's even priority for Nintendo's devs right now. However if you don't want to play it in Wii mode then save your coins for a later purchase.

Question, I haven't redeemed my Platinum Prize or my Mario Kart 8 registration games yet. I plan on picking Wii U games for both, but I don't have a Wii U yet. Do the game redemption codes expire? And if so, when?

The codes don't expire, but I'd be quick with the Mario Kart 8 registration because I believe it is over on the first of August.

Please take note: The download code from Mario Kart will expire on Sept 30.

Ugh, lame.

And do you need to have your Wii U linked to your Club Nintendo Account to be eligible for the free game?

Nope. Once you register MK8 on the Club Nintendo website, it will ask you to choose a free game. After that, you'll get a code, which is also emailed to you. You can redeem that code for any Wii U.

Can anyone please tell me:

The Paper Mario that's being offered on Club Nintendo right now is listed as being for Wii and Wii U. So if I got it for the Wii U, is that on the eShop and playable on the gamepad? I hope so but don't want to waste that many coins to find out.... It's the only PM I've never played

According to this FAQ page, you do need to have your Wii U linked.

Has anyone here gotten a code without having their Wii U yet? I don't want to waste a chance at a free game.

You have to go into Wii Mode. I think you can view Wii games on the Gamepad but I'm not sure the buttons are usable for the actual game (Just acts like a TV?)
