They're the FPS answer to Diablo - which is why I love them. But yeah, some people can't play Diablo alone either, and I totally get it.

Nah, I'm exaggerating a bit. He was just very terse with people in chat and shutting down certain conversations before they escalated. Having the double whammy of women on stream and hentai discussion put him on edge a bit.
That said, curiosity got the best of me and I went through twitter mentions for both guests after the show. Everyone was... really fucking nice. Probably helped it was a premium only stream, but was still good to see.

A twitter search after this past week's podcast showed there was nothing but positivity about Samantha's guesting on the show. A ton of people tweeting her directly to say how much they enjoyed hearing from her or just general praise of the episode in general. I only saw this cause someone pointed it out in comparison to the apparently shitty comments section but it's cool to see.
Also I didn't say at the time, but I too enjoyed Samantha on the show, really interesting and entertaining discussions. From the part of the pre-UPF stream I caught, Tina & Cara were great too. It's good to be getting some new blood in GB content.

Actually, i've heard the gunplay does not feel much like Halo's at all. Can someone who has played the alpha/beta give more insight on if this is the case?

You're aiming down sights a lot so in that way it's got a different feel than Halo. The actually feeling of the shooting does evoke Halo, in terms of how the guns "handle" and such.
Other than that I'd say the actual gameplay doesn't feel too much like Halo at all. The game itself does have a vaguely Halo feeling in places, where the environment & music line up to make it seem like you just might be playing a Halo game.
That's how all games like that have felt since 2009 though. If you haven't given up on console shooters yet, you probably enjoy that type of shooting.

To some degree. The Wizard aren't really like anything we've seen in Halo and Halo didn't have bosses or super-mobs that take quite a few bullets to down, except I guess for Hunters, and those all make the encounters feel quite a bit different from Halo.
The gunplay isn't anything like Halo though, yeah.
And/or the new anime/henitai editor.

i guess this was what was tipping me off since some of the ai movements remind me of it and the Captain is like a re skinned elite (complete with shield to destroy first lol). Also the music kicking in during a fight, etc.
Yeah... That New Blood storyline had so much potential too but it never really stood a chance in that climate. And yeah, Goldberg "went off script" and it got real, brother. He didn't want any part of that Jacknife after being injured from that mysterious motorcycle accident. The Reality Era truly began that night.

I would say the character movement is classic Bungie as well. As soon as I got the beta downloaded and running I started jumping around all those ruined cars, enjoying that floaty jump.
Having an infinite sprint is a nice change from the three second sprint from Reach though.

Eh, I'm not big on ADS shooters but I think the enemy and area design are good enough that it makes it a lot of fun. Unfortunately, Jeff picked normal mode which is a huge step down in enemy AI, they basically just stand out in the open waiting on a bullet shower. On Hard they are much more aggressive and defensive.

I like that the two "homework assignments" so far have been from the period of time when I wasn't watching. I stopped somewhere between Mania 18 & 19 and didn't pick it up again until like 4-5 years ago so it's cool to have an excuse to check out some random events from back then.
This explains why he's the best at the game out of their group.

Before I started it, I was worried they might take Alex's hosting of the Power Bombcast away since everyone else is just going to be in that studio going forward. But then I heard him coming to us live over a string bean can, and thought maybe they could have let someone else take it for just this week. >_>
