Fake leak is blatantly fake, but Monita would be a really cool addition. She could use all sorts of gimmicks from Nintendo Land - bows, swords, giant forks/knives, throwing stars, F-Zero machines, flashlights...
They're likely only together on the site because both genders were revealed together, unlike Villager or Wii Fit Trainer. All three characters are handled exactly the same way, so if both Robins are shown together on the select screen, then both Villagers and WFTs would have to be, too.

First of all I left my post ambiguous in case Sakurai does reveal more significant DKC stuff in Smash such as a new character.
Movesets is a completely moot point. DK has been around since Smash 64 and Diddy is a Brawl vet. Aside from giving DK his roll and changing his Up - B on the ground his and Diddy's movesets so far seem to be the same. It also took DK until the 4th iteration of Super Smash Bros. to get said DKC roll.
Also I wouldn't call getting a music or stage as impressive. Those things are guaranteed for probably every IP that has a fighter in the game. At best I would say it is cool to see DKC enemies in Smash Run, but that aside there isn't too much.
No it is a terrible Final Smash. It requires more effort to properly do, but at the same time is hardly effective and rarely deadly. (at least as far as Brawl is concerned) Running around on Rambi would at the very least be more effective at killing opponents in battle, and is a very iconic skill DK could use instead of basing his entire final smash on a forgettable music game which would be the equivalent of giving Mario a FS based on the Dance Dance Revolution spin-off. (I'd rather see him become 8-bit DK anyway for an ideal FS)
Finally it is naive to say that all IP in Smash get equal treatment. Of course more popular and relevant series will get treated as such. It is why Mario gets a ton of new stages, a new character, new items, etc. while Star Fox has practically nothing as of now. DK though has had a huge revival with the Retro games compared to Brawl, so I'm just expressing surprise/disappointment that there isn't much to look forward to at the moment.

that would be cool, i'm more exited for cool new alts than for newcomers.
Looking at it again, I find it funny how the Villager and Wii Fit Trainer are a single image, but Robin is two images. Am I wrong in believing those three characters will act the same in terms of how you select gender/color for the battle?

Sure I respect that, I just think that Wii Fit Trainer isn't a character to begin with and her/he being in a mascot fighter like Smash comes of as a joke to me. No history, no nostalgia-factor and no character material to draw from except "yoga lol".
Yeah I know, I just felt like venting my thoughts regarding WF Trainer's inclusion haha

Funky Kong's gotta be my favorite though.
I would definitely love Mach Rider however.
The newcomer "artwork" is easily the best part.
Yeah. We've seen every render for every character so far. They shouldn't even bother at this point.
And then there's using 2D art like in the video which is extra hilarious.

That would be the only bowser I would use. Unless they make a bowser outfit, specifically for his rap car.
Also MK8 should get an Cadillac/maybach/Bugatti/Lamborghini sponsorship, so I can use bowser, in an actual rap car.

I was going to say that if anyone is going to Comic-Con or the Hyper Japan thing to try and note some rewards in Smash Run seeing as custom specials are rewards and could be very different from their originals but someone in the comments said they could very well be placeholders. I don't think it's that likely but some of the move descriptions are really strange.

As a Kid Icarus fan, it pisses me off that Mario grabs the Hammer at one of the best parts in the song, and then DK uses his Final Smash during another great part in the song.
Items really suck sometimes.

This, Luigi's new jump animation and Ime's blue flames are the greatest small touches Sakurai has done in the game. I've been crying about Yoshi's green shell when selecting other colors since Melee.
