Dr. Mario won't be in the game unless he's a separate character again, and I really don't see that happening. It's one thing for a fan mod to include him as an alternate costume, but I don't think Sakurai would feel comfortable unless Dr. Mario had his own name and taunts -- at which point the character's more of a clone and less of a costume. Male/female Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Robin make perfect sense as costumes because both genders fulfill the same role in their source material, but platforming Mario and his doctor persona have different enough characterizations to warrant being separate characters.

Sakurai specifically mentioned that alternate costumes could change name and voice in his article about Chrom and Lucina's addition though. And, yet, at this point, we don't know any that change the name - in fact, even his examples didn't mention any. However, the fact that he mentioned name alongside voice really suggests that we'll see alternate costumes that change the name of the selected character.

Considering that, I think Dr.Mario is a possibility.

Yeah, same here. I wonder if there'll be any leaks that no one expected to be real that actually ended up being real in hindsight like there were with Brawl.

I really hope one of the upcoming pic of the days reveals a Final Destination-mode toggle for local multiplayer. I'm sure there'll be something like that, but I really wanna see it already.

EDIT: Also, what if they did something unique with Temple and made it so that the screen focused on who you're playing as? They did mention wanting to do unique things like that with 3DS stages, and we've already seen some examples of it.

So jealous of everyone who got to play this early. I wanted to go to the Best Buy E3 event but Nintendo screwed me over this year by moving away the only nearby location (got to play 3DW and TF last year!) to one that was 3 hours away on the other side of the state.

Speaking of which, the method used to switch to the mask would have been a perfect way to implement costumes too similar to the standard to occupy a second slot. Helmetless Megaman, Samus and Captain Falcon; Masked Dedede...
