Yeah.

Still annoyed by the Swapnote thing. I mean I could go back and use the DSi version, but I wanted to use it on my 3DS.

Fuckin' jackass pedophiles, ruining a perfectly good crappy mailbox email picture thing

...and molesting kids. That's also bad. In fact, it might even be worse.

it's worse

Uh... I'm not sure how I feel about a game that only has ONE smash bro in it. (also, that brings me back to Toys R Us preorder nostalgia. I miss the piece of paper days)

And I'm sure they're guessing on the date. That's the weekend before black friday in the US.

November 21 seems like a pretty safe guess. Mario and Zelda came out on the same day last year, right? I also wouldn't be surprised if it was a couple weeks later though. I keep feeling like the game is a little crunched for time, though there's not a lot suggesting that.

Hmmm. That's interesting. Nov 21 does make sense for Holiday release date.

It's only a month and a half from 3DS. That *might* hurt 3DS sales if they're that close, but maybe not. I'm sure there are a fair amount of people who are only buying the 3DS version to help pass the time. Back when it was going to be summer > holiday, it was theoretically a 3+ month wait. Now it's 1.5 months in the US if that date is true.

when's black friday this year?

if it's the same date every year don't make fun of me, i'm not a yank

It's always the last friday of November (thanksgiving is the last thursday of november, and as such, most people take friday off, or already have it off, and so the friday afterwards is used for sales.)

The Friday before black friday is a safe bet on the release because you always want your biggest holiday title to be available on the biggest shopping day of the year in the USA.

Has any company been crazy enough to launch their product ON Black Friday? Do you think Nintendo could pull something like that?

I worked at gamestop for 9 years... trying to think if anyone actually did launch something on black friday... and I don't think so? Nintendo used to launch stuff on Sunday, mostly, and most others would do tuesday. The tuesday before black friday was usually popular.

We were so busy on black friday it'd be really tough to display and promote something that just came in, but I'm sure it's possible.

November 21st is Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire release date...

I doubt that Nintendo would release two million sellers in the same day

Last year they released A Link Between Worlds and Super Mario 3D World on the exact same day, despite those being their biggest titles of the year.

Nintendo gonna Nintendo.

I would be. Nintendo missing Black Friday with Smash and amiibo would be suicide for the Wii U.

I don't think Mario Party Island Tour counts as a "major release" in the US.

It's still a first party published title, meaning they were competing with themselves. While it's not on the same scale of 3DW or ALBW, it's still a title using the same IP as 3DW and therefore competing with themselves.

Its the Friday after Thanksgiving (which is always the last Thursday of Nov.)

In this case, Nov. 28th.

BTW, Nov. 21st is what that Gamestop manager rumor was floating for a street date.
