Another episode we all saw coming... especially with those Xbox news last week.

What Xbox news? They layoffs?

Difficult to disagree on any major points here. Completely pointless console, sold through lies and trickery. Hope it dies a quick death.
I'm not sure how I feel about this video. Jim usually makes good, valid points, but it seems like he's arguing that, unless Microsoft comes out and outright apologizes for everything, that we should not be happy that things have changed for the better with regards to the Xbox One.

I think it's more about doing all the right things from the start, than trying to force crap, back down when you realise it's not working and then apologising for it (and potentially spinning it as something positive).
Microsoft closing the studio working on the all the TV stuff, which Microsoft actually made a big deal of when they originally unveiled the console.
When you look at that unveiling, and look at the XB1 now, you realise that pretty much nothing from the original "vision" remains. DRM, the TV focus, the pricing, Kinect, etc... They're all gone, victimes of consecutive 180°.

There's very little to disagree with here, in terms of the events, but this is why making gaming purchases based products and services already in existence would save people from a lot of frustration and disappointment. Simply waiting until a platform has the features and games actually in place that let you justify your purchase is like a magical null-ray to protect you from overreaching marketing promises and rubbish.
Here's the thing: Approaching the hobby this way means your purchases don't have to be based on trust. Good software and platform support will be immediately rewarded. Half-baked, over (or under) ambitious products will only be rewarded when they've improved. Sadly, this is a novel idea in a business currently rooted in pre-ordering and pre-purchasing.

Changed for the better? At least the entertainment ideas differentiated the system from the competition. Now it's just a weaker PS4. And judging by recent NPD results that isn't going to be enough.
I agree that things should be done right from the start, and I'm not excusing Microsoft's shitty start to this generation, but I still think it's okay to be glad that things have changed a great deal for the better with regards to the system.
So they are to be scorned even more for listening and removing features that people hated? LOL, okay.

Also, the leadership has changed. This isn't Mattrick's Xbox anymore; it's Spencer's. This seems like a fruitless discussion now that things have changed, and things keep getting better for Xbox (huge monthly updates, renewed focus on games, etc.).

It has arguably better exclusives and arguably a better controller. It's more competitive now, and a lot of the entertainment ideas are not going away.
I disagree about the controller since I prefer the DS4, but "better exclusives" didn't exactly help the PS3 last gen. 360 crushed it in North America relying on the same 3 or 4 franchises.
Wow.

It's not that it's not true(I have no idea), but it's probably on equal footing with the DS4. The DS3 was not terrible, but was quite inferior to the 360 controller, so I am assuming most people are still going by that logic.I've not seen this statement often. Not that I agree or disagree with it, by the way.

It's their fault for implementing the features in the first place. They should be punished for attempting to enforce their anti-consumer policies in the beginning.
holding that second place badge is their punishment. Xbox One will always be a second place console. In the end it has to be this way.
While I don't agree, this isn't talking about a person losing a life. It's a piece of kit. Let's just be clear on that.
And yes, XB1 has been sketchy. That's only part of the reason as to why it's getting outsold by the superior PS4. I use superior on purpose. From marketing and messaging to the most important thing, games. XB has been handled poorly and PS4 has not been. Simple as that right?
Unless it doesn't fit certain people's view that is.
Really you want the console to fail so quickly, I'm sorry I'd rather have all 3 living, for healthy competition in the console business.Difficult to disagree on any major points here. Completely pointless console, sold through lies and trickery. Hope it dies a quick death.
