Thanks guys. Why would it be so crazy for him not to come back?

BTW, Brawl is the only series entry I've skipped. I assume it's okay to skip it and not miss out on much excitement in the way of SP stuff. Is that right? I had my fill of SSB MP with Melee so on that front I'm good to wait for the new games.

Finally, was the Stage Builder any good in Brawl, and is it expected to return in the new games?

Yes...well maybe if you want to play a smash version of kirby.
Nah it was rather bare bones.
No word as of yet.

Play Brawl, it's fun. That's all I got to say.

SSE is fun, but not spectacular. All you have to do is try not to take it too seriously and I think you'll like it. The cutscenes are fuckin rad at least.

Stage Builder was pretty barebones last time, hopefully it's better this time around.

Smash single player is generally not great, no different with Brawl. I didn't like SSE much and I think Melee had much better event matches.

Stage builder was... uh. Limited. There were probably a few good things to come out of it.

Yeah, there's no continuing story of course. It's fine to skip. Some of the events and boss battles were fun, but overall nothing to terrible to miss.

Stage Builder was ok. Exciting in concept, but once you actually use the tool, if feels kinda limited. It was fun to play around with though, and I imagine the actually creative people had more fun with it than I did.

The stage builder will be dramatically better this time around even if for no other reason than the fact you'll have a touch screen interface

What is with this joke format of having "somebody who doesn't know about a thing" try to identity said thing? There are so many of them and they're such a forced setup for the joke. There seems like plenty of other hilarious opportunities to just refer to a character by the wrong name and not ask people to suspend their disbelief for it.

For example, just call the Mario Bros "Mario and Giuseppe." Always call Luigi Giuseppe. Act like it's no big deal that the green plumber is named Giuseppe.

(Giuseppe is pronounced "juh-sep-E.")

I would love a more robust stage builder.

Even the very limited stage builder in Brawl was a godsend because it was able to recreate Saffron City.

He's been replaced by Waddle Dee.

Too bad I'm on PhoneGAF, because I'm 99% certain there was a Brawl in the Family where a Wonderful Life scenario happened to
Dedede and his replacement was Bandana Dee in an edgier Meta Knight cape.
.

Who said there was a BitF for everything again?

Anyhoo, fake or not, I still can't get over "Princess Angel." And at least in the part of Martha, when I was 10 I legitimately thought that's what Marth was short for when I saw the whole roster for the first time. I'm also still proud to know what Mr. Game & Watch was from back then.

I'm kinda afraid that Sakurai might cut Stage Builder all together just because he's afraid he could accidentally leave another backdoor for hackers to actually make the game fun bust the system wide open. I'm pretty sure he's smarter than that, but, then again, this is the guy who decided to cut a story mode from this game because people uploaded the cutscenes from SSE to Youtube.

We should get Sakurai's cat to ID them. Wouldn't be funny, since they'd all be right. But would be impressive that a cat can even do that.

a little known fact: Sakurai's cat wanted Anna instead of Lucina

Well, the Stage Builder exploit happened because of an oversight on the way it reads the SD card, not because of the SB itself

If its cut, it will not be because of this

Yeah, it's kinda neat, but I suspect it'll be hard to land/pull off effectively as a consequence. That and/or it'll steal very very little (2-3%)

I shall spam it every chance I get. Hopefully that works, but yeah, these abilities don't tend to be the most executable in the world since they could potentially break the game.

I also did that. and I wanted to recreate Sector Y because Corneria and any new Great Fox stage is not big enough.

Its a tome, you cannot spam it :p

Likely won't be very spammable due to the tome mechanics, so I don't think it'll be too hard to land.

You can technically spam them for... a short while :) It just prevents continuous spamming. That's a good point about the tome mechanic itself being a drawback which means that all of robin's moves are inherently buffed because of it.

yeah, stage builder was pretty good even with the limitations, an improved version would be awesome

The custom stages were so generic looking, though. Made them less fun to play on just because of how dull they looked. I'd like tilesets that come from smash franchises (zelda, mario, etc), which would help a lot. A random... mushroom or column were really dull looking.
