I also did that. and I wanted to recreate Sector Y because Corneria and any new Great Fox stage is not big enough.
I thought Lylat Cruise was decent enough. Not as good as Corneria which is the best Star Fox stage but still good enough.

Here's a game:
Everyone pick your favorite stage from each Nintendo series. For example:
Legend of Zelda- Hyrule Temple
Star Fox- Corneria
etc.

I just noticed the online page on the website, while talking about bans, mentions modding specifically, even going as far as to list it before cheating. They know damn well what people are going to try to do :P.

Agree with your 2 examples.

Mario - Delfino Plaza
DK - Jungle Japes
Metroid - Brinstar
Pokemon - Poke Floats (come at me)
Kirby - FOUNTAIN OF DREAMS

EDIT: Looking at georly's post... I don't know if I played this game correctly =/

The custom stages were so generic looking, though. Made them less fun to play on just because of how dull they looked. I'd like tilesets that come from smash franchises (zelda, mario, etc), which would help a lot. A random... mushroom or column were really dull looking.

yeah, that would be the kind of assets you would like to have in stage builder, perhaps not as far as merging elements from different games, but at least have a, for example, mario tileset, zelda tileset, so that you can build stages these games in mind

and thinking about it, building smash-runs levels would be pretty wicked, but I think that is out of the question lel

I think he's talking about actual stages...

He said from any nintendo series, he didn't say smash bros :p

That's my favorite stage from any nintendo series!

If it has to be smash bros, then i'd have to say pokemon stadium, melee
If we have to pick 1 stage PER franchise... that's unfair to franchises w/ 1 stage ever.

I think I did it wrong, not you! Who knows!

Mario - Mushroom Kingdom II
Zelda - Great Bay
Kirby - Green Greens
Star Fox - Corneria
DK - Jungle Japes
Yoshi - Yoshi's Island (SSBM)
Metroid - Norfair
Pokemon - Pokemon Stadium I
Earthbound - Onett
F-Zero - Mute City

Metroid: Brinstar Depths
Only good Metroid stage ever to be in Smash.

Worst stage in the whole game imo

Its favorite smash bros stage per franchise. It does stink for some like fire emblem, pikmin, Animal Crossing and kid icarus until smash 4 comes a long but there are still enough franchises to play the game.

Mario- Mushroom Kingdom 2
Pokemon- Saffron City
Earthbound- Onett (although fourside is also good)
Zelda- Hyrule Temple
Star Fox- Corneria
Metroid- Norfair
Kirby- Green Greens
F-Zero- Big Blue
Ice Climbers- Summit
Yoshi- Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
DK- Jungle Japes
Game & Watch- Flat Zone

I prefer all 64 stages, maybe because the blast zones were too far away and it was easier to survive. Thought Peach's Castle didn't make sense, but it was fun!

Alright, this sounds fun enough.

Mario: Mushroom Kingdom (64) The first unlockable stage was amazing to discover at the time. And I had too much fun with the warp pipe mechanic.

Zelda: Hyrule Temple (Melee). This one's really hard. Zelda has well-crafted stages. Hyrule Castle (64) takes the cake in terms of playability. Termina, Eldin Bridge, and Pirate Ship all do a great job in terms of representing the feel of the series, too. Ultimately the long-lived cave shennanigans edge it out for the big Melee locale.

Pokemon: Saffron City. It had an interesting, medium-sized layout, with a solid variety between the left, right, and middle. Most strikingly, the box in the middle always draws attention. I tried so many times to lure people near and toss them in, only to end up there myself, haha. Pokemon Stadium I has annoying transformations, and PSII transformations make the previous transformations seem fun.

Metroid: Norfair. I don't like to play on any of the Metroid stages. Orpheon and both Melee/64 Brinstar are ok I guess. But they all have great atmosphere. Brinstar Depths takes a nice extra step in showcasing Kraid. Norfair is the best Metroid area though, and the coolest stage to me. I think it would actually be really cool, if the edges from all the top platforms were removed, the stage didn't move, and lava never fell. I wish Metroid stages didn't always have to have lava (or flipping) gimmicks. ;_;

Star Fox: Corneria. Cool layout. I love the moment when someone finds out they can land on the lasers (or manages to recover because of them)... only to immediately be surprised when they fire. Doing wall jumps on the fin in the center can be fun too. And it helps that the stage is not as excessively big as Sector Z's Great Fox. All the other ones were cool too though.

DK's Jungle Japes is great, Yoshi's Yoshi's Story is great, Kirby's FoD is great, Fourside is neat, F-Zero has Mute City, all the G&W stages are bad, and.... I'm tired of trying to think of things now, but too lazy to look up a list.

So tomorrow Potd we're getting a climbing stage for Wii U anounced. Also forgot New Pork City but its Icicle Mountain tier not all the way at the bottom with Rumble Falls and 75 M
But Icicle Mountain IS all the way at the bottom with those (and NPC). ;P

I dunno, I enjoyed 75M and Rumble Falls.

Despite the great IC arrangement, Icicle Mountain was just boring. Never cared for Melee's iterations of Mushroom Kingdom (the original one, not Subcon) and Battlefield, either.

Yeah, it's kinda neat, but I suspect it'll be hard to land/pull off effectively as a consequence. That and/or it'll steal very very little (2-3%)

Likely won't be very spammable due to the tome mechanics, so I don't think it'll be too hard to land.

I was wondering if it was almost purely intended to be a 3-player or 4-player free for all ability. Otherwise, how often can you hit someone with a (is it short range?) attack while they're facing away from you?

In competitive games, it would seem hard enough to even hit someone with an ability unless it is very quick or high priority, let alone convince them to turn their back on you AND stop shielding. Maybe there would be some way to do it after rolling, but again it would seem to require some weird situation where the other player used a very laggy attack and got stuck unable to shield.

Mario: Mario Circuit
Donkey Kong: Kongo Jungle (Melee)
Zelda: Temple
Metroid: Brinstar

Kirby: Fountain of Dreams
Star Fox: Corneria
Pokemon: Pokemon Stadium 1
Mother: Onett
F-Zero: Mute City
Ice Climber: Summit
Game & Watch: Flat Zone 1

is this supposed to be intentionally terrible or what

Aside from the non-swimmable water, I loved everything about it.
Well more power to ya.

I'm one who always raises the banner on gimmicky stages and such but ugh, that one hit my limit. Not to mention the seizure inducing colors.

I'm more tolerant towards Brawl stages than most people are so *shrug*

I'd rather play any of them than go back to Yoshi's Story or Icicle Mountain again.

I love Hanenbow. If the water were swimmable I'd say it'd be a lot higher on my list. I don't like how the leaves reset on their own though. That's the only thing keeping it from being a full on Electroplankton simulator.

Aaaaand I like 75m. I don't like the invisible bottom floor though. It could've just had some holes. I really like this stage, actually. Kinda could've stood to be smaller though. But I think it's a cool idea.

Guess I like Brawl stages more than most though.

i was under the impression that the stage that everyone hate the most is 75 mm.

In Brawl, yes. In Melee, I say Brinstar Depths is the worst because you could never find more than two inches of level, non-moving ground to stand on. There were too many little hills and holes in the ground. As bad as Icicle Mountain was, at least there were enough platforms for you to almost have a decent fight on.

Bleh, having a whole seperate character for Dark ______ would make me feel cheated. While Dark Samus isn't as egregiously similar as Dark Link or Dark Pit, it would still be disappointing to me. I think these sorts of things are great ideas for alt costumes, but pretty weak for individual characters.

Have you played Prime 2 and 3? And seen video of the assist trophy Dark Samus? She has her own moves and movement style.

Stages I want:

Smash: Something in addition to FD and BF, but with the distinctive Smash theme
Animal Crossing: ?
DK: ?
F-Zero: The setting of the "Save Jody!" mission from GX, with the closing doors
Fire Emblem: Some stony castle
Kid Icarus: ?
Kirby: Yarn level?
Megaman: A level with disappearing platforms above lava, hehe
Metroid: Phendrana Drifts. Duh. Shoulda been in brawl.
Mother: ?
Pac-Man: Something with ghosts
Pikmin: ?
Pokemon: Snap minecart ride
Punch-Out!!: ?
Sonic: Chemical Plant Zone. They could make this zone stunning with today's graphics
Star Fox: The train from the 64 level Macbeth with arwings coming down as platforms
Mario: Observatory, duh
Zelda: Ganon's Tower from OoT, starts collapsing in the last minute of play, or when no one has more than 1 stock
Wii: Cow chase from Wii Play
Yoshi: ?

75m is awesome. I love that stage. Mario Bros sucks, and I'm not too much a fan of Hanenbow, but I love dumb gimmick stages. Throw in something as amazing as WarioWare in SSB4, please.
