My brother wants reasons the 3DS version of Smash won't be labelled irrelevant after the Wii U version drops. Help me argue with him smashgaf!!

So I brought goldensun on the eshop the other day and now im totally for issac being playable in smash. I also find it weird how Sakurai couldnt put a moveset with him, Isaac must have been one of the few that sakurai didnt have time to make a character so stuck him as a AT

I love MK8, but tolerating all the dumb things in MK8 and missing in MK8 is just tiring at times, the balance being the most tiring part. And coming after MK7 which I thought was amazing outside of the fact I didn't like a lot of the tracks.You didn't like MK8?
I mean, I don't think he meant as competitively balanced as MK8.
I think I would get much more enjoyment out of Smash 4 than I did with MK8.
If you literally can't stop playing Smash Bros no matter how you have to play it.

Im going to be on a bus for like 12 hours going from st louis to alabama, imagine being in that situation and with a fully charged 3DS with smash in the cartidge slot.

I had a dream they did a montage of alt costumes at Nintendo direct and at the end they just start playing Doctor Mario Chill after a fade out and suddenly Doc jumps out of a pipe (Mario's stage entrance) and a sweet montage of Doc being awesome played with the reveal of the best costume this game will ever have.

Okay. I can agree with you. I think MK7 is probably the most balanced MK, and I enjoy it a bit more than 8. A lot of it might be because of the difference between 8 and 12 players. I really like MK8 though, and I still play it.
Smash doesn't have the intrinsic frustrations of Mario Kart, so we should be safe there.

It's portable. It has stages that's not available on the Wii U version. More Lucina on the go. Viridi has only been seen in the 3DS version I think.

For me, it's being able to play Smash whenever I want. My WiiU is hooked up to the family TV and so time to play on it is at a premium. But I can use my 3DS wherever and whenever I want.
Which is why I'm honestly thinking I'll be playing the 3DS version way more, just because I have more time to spend playing 3DS games than WiiU games.

To be honest, I don't like saying that about MK8, but it is honestly what I feel.
And MK8 will most likely outsell SSB4.
I guess I'm more of a console Mario Kart person so MK8 just had more pull to me even though I think MK7 is the better of the two in terms of balance, though they have jackshit in terms of content lol.
Just surprised Mang0 said that about MK8 in comparison to SSB4 and threw me in a loop lol.
And yea, you're right about the frustrations MK has compared SSB, but I think the frustration is a part of the fun in Mario Kart lol (not the coin item or character balance though, that's just straight up annoying).

Hard to argue if the thought of portable Smash doesn't win him over. For me, it's the fact that I don't have to buy a Wii U, plus it's portable.

Would assume so, they probably aren't going to make a different build for an event a month after e3, that requires more work then just recycling the same demo. I imagine at this point 100% of development time is for polishing and fine tuning the game

I see where they're going with the coin item. If you're in first and they don't want you to get a defensive item that keeps your position forever, the game gives you a coin.
In theory, that's okay. The problem is when you get a coin in second, the player in first gets a green shell, and the player behind you gets a red shell. That's how GamePads get broke.
Now where did I leave that rolled up newspaper...

I remember HugS saying that he was the first player to get to the semi-finals of a major tournament while losing every match (because people kept voting him to advance because of his character).

yo seriously tho, those green shells are ridiculous. i always get hit by one at the worst times! OP, ban green shells.
I understand the thought process of not giving out defensive items like candy, but it came from item boxes waaaaaay too frequently in first place. Then triple red shells being common in second place is when you know the game is out to get you lol.
In previous games, outside of MK7, they had the fake item box which was much better. While it was useless against incoming attacks, it didn't feel like a "fuck you" lol.
And like Anth0ny said, those targeting ricochet shells was extreme bullshit lol. In MK7, it was never that bad. My theory is they wanted to do that for the sake of MKTV.
