PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

PSA: Stay away from Blackgate, the game has too many issues. Even at $4, it's a pass. The navigation and backtracking are horrible. I know $4 isn't a lot. But, this is a money versus time issue. It's simply not worth it.
I'd second this. Game is boring as fuck and thanks to the shittiest map system ever (which they thoughtfully fixed for the much cheaper HD version) you will keep getting lost. Not that the game is any good when you're finding your way.

Such a disappointment :(

It's cheaper than 4 bucks?

I agree with your point about the map. On doing my last run for the platinum I got infuriated at just how bloody bad the map is. It literally makes no sense what so ever, how the game shipped out with a map this broken is baffling. Otherwise I actually did enjoy most of the game.

How is Walking Dead Season 1 on Vita? I think I finally want to give it a shot and it seems like a great game to lay in bed and play. Just wondering if there are any performance issues or anything like that.

The game occasionally freezes for a couple of seconds and the frame rate can be pretty bad. It's still playable though

Let me quote myself from the Destiny thread, because posts there are buried really fast, and I would like some help"

Just experienced my first freeze. Playing Destiny beta and while loading the Guardian's Tower (shortly after the into tutorial) it stuck at 70%. I waited few minutes, then tried to shut down my PS3 (super slim) but it stayed on with a blinking green light. Waited another 3-4 minutes and plugged it out from the wall socket.

Anyone encountered something like that? I'm kinda worried, because the console is only few months old (still under warranty tho) and its the first time it ever did something like that. :O

Did BandaiNamco ever give a reason for why Dark Souls 2 DLC doesn't have a Season Pass for the America's on PSN or X360? Everything I saw on their twitter feed was just repeating that it wasn't coming.

I agree with this. I think the map is awful and the way they limit traversal is pointless. Once you understand the map and you have all the gadgets that allow you to move through the map though it actually gets a lot better. The combat isn't varied enough but the boss fights are good.

Overall I did enjoy Blackgate... but that map. Yikes.

Ok guys prepare for some bad news :(

Oreshika is getting low scores from users because the goddess Nueko, and not the family, is the center of the story.
http://www.siliconera.com/2014/07/2...ines-getting-slammed-japanese-players-amazon/

and it sold 93,775, slightly less than Oreshika 1 PSP (94.085)
http://gematsu.com/2014/07/media-create-sales-71414-72014

Those sales are good. Easily over 100k with digital.
PSP userbase in Japan in 2011 was much... MUCH bigger than Vita.

I think it actually beat the PSP remake per Nirolak's number which was 88,694 for first week.

I played through pretty much the entire story mode of Injustice Vita and gotta say, it is a very solid port :D. The Frame Rate is a very consistent 60 Frames, the game feels very fast (faster then MK9), has all the content from the PS4/PS3 versions, and visually it looks MUCH better then MK9 did on Vita (the character models look good with the environments still having the destructive stages transitions :D).

Had a blast playing it last night and don't understand people find it a bad port. My guess is that the heaving of the frame rate during super attacks, stage transitions, and fighter introductions bothered people (as those are common, making the frame rate fluctuate from 30-to-60FPS).

Either way, I'm having fun and it is the better game out of this and Blackgate :D.

Please, don't support crappy ports like this. The freezing/stuttering issue is terrible. People will say it's not unplayable, and I suppose technically they would be correct, but it's pure trash that they released it like this...cash grab nonsense. Make devs earn your dollars. Just my opinion.

Is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes worth $10.50 on the PS4?
I played the demo and it seemed okay enough. Just wondering, as that seems like a damn good deal overall.

I put 80 hours into it with my son and I have no regrets. It's totally worth it at that price. It's the best open world Lego game to date and it has a ton of content. If you're into Marvel it's a must buy.

Not seeing how to think it's a consistent framerate(game literrally goes between 40-60 and -30 if it's especially hetic during combat not counting super moves/interacables/supers) but at least you had fun :P I still want my 12.50 back from last sale

I see your point and this would work for other consoles but the vita is a special case and boycotting games from a developer could result in them not making any more games for the platform.

more bad ports vs no ports at all :|

Tempted by Injustice and Lego Marvel. I might just buy them and wait to play them until I get a bigger memory card in a couple months. I think going digital on my Vita is going to eliminate a ton of headaches of actually tracking down physical copies of games. Being able to sit on my couch and purchase/acquire a game is still a relatively new thing to me. I'm really lazy so this seems like the way to go.

I am very much into Marvel and I have played previous LEGO games and had fun with them.
Thanks for the feedback, just purchased it and pushed it to my PS4. Will check it out tonight.

Hm, okay thanks. Hard to decide since I'm sure I could pick it up on Steam for a few dollars at some point. I know the Vita version is a bit more pricey.
Technically it's unfortunately not a great port. Performance is meh and shadows are missing.
I still enjoyed the Vita version the most because of the touch controls plus playing comfortably on my bed is great and because of that bought Season 2 only the Vita. (I had Season 1 on PC and PS3 as well)
Luckily Season 2 is a better port (for example shadows are intact) and the game lets you import your save, so I would stick to one platform if you enjoy Season 1.
The Vita version was on sale at least in Europe several times (I don't know about US sales) and next week the summer sale starts. If you are from here it might be worth it to wait until next week for a potential lower price.

I'm excited for Rogue Legacy, but my goodness that game has an ugly art style. I am not against pixel art by any means, so it's not that; the art style is just really bad IMO.

Thank you for the heads up about the games performance though :D; it would have really sucked this running worse then Jak Collection or something XD. Sorry you didn't enjoy your copy though :(.

Thank you both.

It seems the PC version is probably the way to go for me then even though I won't be able to play it in bed. Oh well.

I'm usually picky about pixel art, but Rogue Legacy looks fine to me. Then again, it was the gameplay that really sold me on the game.

Nope, compatibility list remains the same, i.e. it still doesn't work in GTA V.
Thanks. Looks like the original Bioshock is compatible. I adore that game but I played it on an SD TV without surround sound. It was on 360. I'd love to relive it in HD with my gold headset but would prefer the DS4 if I do. Looks like I'm good to go.

Not that bad, really. There is all sorts of performance issues on the PS3 version as well. Piece of advice, the physical version have way less stuttering than the digital version.
