It's fucking Donkey Kong.
Like, really. Are you guys serious.

If people are going to claim K. Rool had a fantastic personality worth remembering I'm going to remind them that he's generic trope incarnate.

Honestly I think Frederick and even Tiki Tong are better because of their designs.

Nintendo doesn't even acknowledge K Rool's existence, especially since they rebooted the platformers with Returns. Pretty much any rumor involving him is invalidated by this. Not sure why he even comes up as a topic of discussion.

The more I hear about K. Rool possibly being a DK rep, the more i'm interested in seeing that happen.

Kremlings are in Smash Run.
Zelda looks like a Korean MMO ad.
OMG, this is the perfect description for Zelda in HW lol.

Every art render (design) in SSB4 is better than the HW counterpart, to me. But Link in-game in SSB4 is unfortunately is not really representative of his look in the render.

Retro studios acknowledges him. The reason they don't use him is because they want to make their own stuff. It's like how the Metroid Prime series used new space pirate designs with each game; Retro likes making new things more than reusing old ones in their games.

They're hating on K rool for being bland, but bowser wasn't much better until recently.
Honestly? At least Bowser was consistent with a memorable design. I wouldn't have minded K.Rool if he wasn't different every game.

Is that why Japan considers his "brothers" different characters? :x

Being a villain is a terrible reason for a character to be playable. The character itself should lend itself to be interesting and have a good moveset. Then there are all of the other factors like relevancy, popularity, uniqueness, and etc.

wow such villain shaming check privlej pls

Really? I think HW Link and Zelda look infinitely superior to their SSB4 forms.

The money I'd pay to have HW Zelda in Smash...

It's going to be funny seeing all the backtracking when K. Rool does show up again, if not in a playable role, as a boss or an Assist Trophy or something.

Because then, the anti-Rare brigade doesn't get to chalk it up to "Bawwww, Rare iz bad n ugly," since it'll be Nintendo responsible for designing him this time around.

like even as far as rare villains go, grunty was way better than K Rool

Bowser is way better designed than K Rool.

I was referring to personality more than visual aesthetics. Bowser has definitely had time to be refined, both visually and his personality, K rool wasn't given much of a chance. That said, Bowser >>>>>>>> K. Rool.

What?
DK Jungle Climber had K Rool and that was on the DS, long post Rare's selling off.

Nearly every DK character is a generic trope. Cranky's just an old man, Funky is a 90's surfer dude, etc. Yet people love them because while not "deep" or anything they are funny and charming characters. K. Rool squaring off against the player in a different appearance everytime was a fun quality of him.

Wasn't K.Rool in Mario Super Sluggers on the Wii?

He was, but with yet another design.

Still awful.

And that's not a bad thing, but unlike those other characters who had memorable designs there was nothing interesting about any of K. Rool's incarnations.

Wait since when the fuck is DKCR supposed to be a reboot of the DKC series? It's a continuation.

Retro Studios is the George Lucas of video games, except their second trilogy is actually going to be good

I didn't even bring up Rare at first. It's just a shit design. I'm not going to backtrack if he still has a shit design and he's incorporated in SSB4 somehow. It's not about his inclusion in my case. Hell, I think there are already poorly-designed characters in Smash.

If Retro is the George Lucas of DKC, does that mean my erotic Wrinkly Kong fan fiction is no longer a canon Expanded Universe?

As some other's have said, changing K. Rool's appearance and demeanor with every game certainly didn't help. In addition to funny and charming, the Kongs are fairly consistent, too. With K. Rool, they didn't even keep his name consistent across the Super Nintendo trilogy, where the character was at his peak popularity.

He should have been a pirate from the beginning. That was great. Crocodile pirates was a solid, unifying theme that instantly communicated "bad guy" and he could still be crazy. Going away from that in DKC3 really soured me on the kremlings, unfortunately. I hated that they went from

I don't even know WHAT they were trying to do there.

Square gave Bowser a personality(1996) well before Nintendo ever did (2002).

That said, Bowser has shit for a personality anyway. I'm not playing Smash for personalities. Hell how many character in Smash are Silent Protags, Nearly-silent, or in Samus' case, silent until just very recently?

Man, DKC2 nailed it. If Mashpotato Samurai would give us Kaptain K. Rool, I'd be the loudest cheerleader. I wanna blunderbuss the shit out of everyone.

I'm getting this way too now. From what I remember it helps to write down your dreams as soon as you wake up... or at least make a conscious effort to try and verbalize what happened immediately. Regulating your sleep schedule doesn't hurt either. I tried to improve recollection a few years back when I was messing around with lucid dreams. It's fun stuff, and I was surprised to see myself actually remembering a dream most nights after a while. I'm older and lazier now though and sleep is kind of erratic, so I dream about as often as what you described.
That's the thing...after the few dreams I have I DO remember what happened, details for about a day and the general experience for weeks sometimes. Oh well, at least I have no problems to fall asleep, that would be way worse.

Like this it feels as if a day was 17-18 hours long to me. Sleeping literally is enter bed->pull blanket over body->remove blanket->stand up. Doesn't feel like any time transpired at all between pulling the blanket over my body and putting it away.

EDIT: We have 50 posts in 15 minutes right now o.O
Keep this up, I want to see OT11 when I wake up in a few hours!
