Tomorrow at 7AM, I fly to San Diego. I'll be up at 5AM.

In other words, if I lose, *insert sleep/jet lag johns here*

Except I won't lose :)

Good night everyone, see you on the other side.

Good luck, rep dat smashGaf :D

...on a complete tangeant and somewhat inspired by the Sceptile talk: Has anyone seen Chikorita in a pokeball in this game? She was in them for brawl but I don't recall seeing any Chikorita footage and she's my favourite grass starter.
It's kind of odd that Chikorita doesn't have any evolutions though. It's almost like there maybe was but I've dedicated myself to mentally blocking their existence :P

One thing I noted with Little Mac's aerial disadvantage is that it makes it a lot harder for him to get the final smash. As I saw in the Smash tournament the smash ball floats all over the stage typically in the air giving Little Mac a significant disadvantage at ever getting it.

Also looking forward to playing as ZSS she was my poor mans sheik during the Brawl days since Sheik's downgrade hurt too badly after I mained her in Melee. ZSS both look like they got good boosts so I may switch between the two although im also curious about Greninja and Little Mac since they may align with my playstyle. However im going to play around with everyone since everyone looks really fun to play as this go around. Pacman reminded me a lot of the fun I had with Mr. G&W in Melee.

Adding parasol in is probably a good idea and it'd make for a few easy standard attacks.
My problem with the parasol is that "speciality" characters tend to focus on the single weapon they're best known for, and Waddle Dee would undoubtedly be a spear user. Alternating between a spear and a parasol would make him feel unfocused, and Parasol Waddle Dee is already a Smash Run enemy.
Smash Bros. is serious business.

Then the only logical solution is to make the spear and parasol one... All the strengths of a spear and the....uhh parasolness of the parasol!

I disagree completely with the grenade since again it was invented in the early 1900's and Sheik is a character from medieval fantasy period.
This is a weird complaint considering Skyward Sword introduced sentient robots, not to mention the next game seems to keep going with the anachronistic sci-fi elements.

I missed this post. I'm right here! I just hate screaming trying to get everyone to love a character I happen to like. And I know his chances are pretty close to 0%.

Speaking of annoying Geno fans, how many of these type of posts are we going to see on NeoGAF once the final roster is revealed?

At this point, I think the only potential newcomer that people would be overly disappointed with not showing up is Ridley. The other requested characters like K. Rool, Dixie, Takamaru, etc. are pretty low tier at this point with the cast.

I think everyone would get over the rest unless there was some Virtual Boy character, or a walking SNES or Goku got in or something. I know I'd be pretty unhappy if they announced Naruto or Goku or Batman was in- but they cut Lucas and Mewtwo out.

Batman I wouldn't be too unhappy about, I mean it's Batman.

The "where 90% right is 100% wrong" title is going to seem real salty if the next newcomer isn't Shulk or Chorus Kids. Just saying...

I'm personally fond of "For Fun, For Glory, For my father!"

or my own, which was "Why can't Mario stop these leaks" :p

You'd be fine with batman huh? Well what about this one making it in? :P

I don't know. I think more people across the board will be upset with Mewtwo not returning than Ridley not being playable.

Hey guys~

This is kinda not news but I thought I should say anyway.

I work near Bandai Namco in Tokyo and was just chatting with a guy working on Tekken 7.

Talking about Smash he said the whole team is on 'fire' and working insane hours. He said that there was talk of the 3DS version being delayed.

I explained this was really unlikely but he stood by his claim.

So there you go.

I am biased, but I think the only character from my top picks that would feel like a glaring omission is Shulk. Xenoblade was so critically praised and seems Nintendo is trying to push the franchise into making it bigger.

Well, that's certainly interesting considering some reputable news I've heard today.

I'm kinda half and half on it. On the one hand if we're talking about the Waddle Dee, everyone's idol, then he'd probably never use a parasol. On the other hand it's a pretty iconic thing for them to have and he'd probably look like a badass wielding both at the same time.

Forgot that they showed up in Smash Run though, so that's probably a no go in this (hilariously unlikely) scenario.

Damn are y'all gonna be done with this thread soon?

Probably tomorrow or the next day.

The answer is obvious.

He has to dual-wield.

Holiday 2015.

That's not Batman. That's totally Man-bat in a new suit. Doesn't count!

I don't know. I think more people across the board will be upset with Mewtwo not returning than Ridley not being playable.

There'd be disappointment either way, and a ton of it. But Ridley has had a ton of hints so far, while Mewtwo hasn't really had any indication they're planning to bring him back. Because of those hints, I'd put my chips on Ridley.

Well that's certainly interesting. But talk is just talk I guess.

What if they are just delaying the Japanese release for a simultaneous worldwide launch.

Who do I have to sleep with to not make a delay happen? I'll take a couple
of inches
for the team.

I wouldn't mind if it meant the japanese version got delayed but we still get the game on the same day worldwide. I mean Nintendo is capable of getting much more demanding titles localized for a worldwide release, I dont see why they couldnt do it with Smash.

I also found it curious how much feedback they were taking in at E3 for a game that would be released in a few months. Im wondering if they decided to alter some mechanics like landing lag and balance after observing people playing the demo and the tournament.

What may that be?

This all being said, he was on the Tekken team so I don't know how closely they work together.
Heard through the grapevine that Smash 3DS cannot afford to not make it in 2014, and that Smash Wii U could be delayed into 2015 depending upon how much Sakurai and company decide to change the characters around based upon feedback from all these demoes.

I'm not very confident that there'll be any meaningful changes with regards to landing lag and general movement options in the game.

Still gotta hope, though.

From the BN employee I spoke to, all signs point to yes.
Possibly
.

Have they heard of patches

Destiny seems poised to be relatively big in Japan too, so they're ducking it everywhere obviously /s
