Nintendo Downloads - July 2014

I was watching a video of Ufouria and it looked really fun! How did I never play this?

Has anyone played it recently? Is it worthwhile?

Just wondering, is there some site which lists the Europe updates per week? I recall finding one in a distant past, but I can't seem to retrace my steps.

Costs to get rated are between $900 and $2500 AUD.

Is that really a lot in comparison to the expected revenue from sales here?

I've heard from some indies that released their games there that they never got a cent of profit.. The AU market is kinda small compared to US/Europe. So there is that issue too.

$900?! I've heard like $500... $900 makes that so much worse. As a very small time indie, that is a LOT of money. The big buys can afford to write that off, but I can't. I need to wait for money from other regions before I can try Europe (with with PEGI/USK can cost around $1000 inc bank fees.). I will eventually release my Wii U game in AU, though if it is truly $900 or more (ESRB in US is free), it might be a while. Who knows what kind of bank fee Ill get for AU transfer.

Those rating agencies REALLY need to get with the damn program and start being free. ESRB is now free for downloadable only games. Which helps out a lot of us in NA

A very interesting interview done by NoE one of the developers of Tengami.
Since nobody read this interview (I'm guessing) here is something to kick people in gear:
NoE: You mentioned playing while wearing headphones – can you tell us more about the soundtrack and audio?

JS: Our composer – I think Nintendo fans will know him – is called David Wise, and he’s recorded famous soundtracks for games like Donkey Kong Country. He’s composing all of our music. The soundtrack is just fantastic; I absolutely love it. It’s like traditional Japanese music but with a western twist on it. So it’s very orchestral, and it’s just beautiful.
I knew he was composing something for an eShop game but could not recall which...

Chubbins, Poker Dice, Wooden Sen'Sey, Master Reboot and Ufouria for me this week.

eShop in full-on beast mode this summer.

Edit: Arkham Origins was still $20 as of yesterday. I traded in my physical copy and used my DDP credit, snagging it for about $12. I think I'm going to transition to all digital on Wii U. 80% of my gaming time is at work, who's got time for discs?

Sounds interesting but too bad that the game looks so boring, so unless it's cheaply priced say about £1-6 then I won't be picking it up.

Same here. Last month I sold my physical Zombi U copy and bouth it digital (it was on sale on the eshop, so I even managed to get a small profit). Ir Arkham City goes on sale too, I'll do the same. Of course I have an external HD.

Nice OTs.

I am def picking up Wooden Sen'SeY, that is for sure!

Btw: For my own game (ZaciSa's Last Stand), I submitted a new patch on Monday that will not only improve things, adjust game balance, but add two new maps. Should hopefully have info on it's release by next week.

I really want to hear impressions about Master Reboot, because it looks interesting and the concept seems intriguing.

Here are some reviews from the PC and PS3 versions:

Here's an interview you might find interesting:

I haven't seen any reviews of the Wii U version yet.

Does Super Toy Cars have online multiplayer? I'll buy it if it does.

Never mind, the press release mentions local multiplayer only. What a waste. These indie developers really need to start prioritizing online or else they can't complain if their games bomb.

IARC is supposed to put an end to that mess. Right now only the Firefox Marketplace supports it. You get four ratings for free: ESRB, PEGU, USK and Brazil's ClassInd. Developers just need to pester Nintendo into integrate it into their eShop submission process.

Mega Man Battle Network is the European version and not the US version, btw. Not that it makes a difference (I know of), but it has the Ubisoft logo at the beginning.
