Recovery is so much easier with the dash though. The only time I ever used the bike was for crowd control, or in joke matches to piss people off.

The people responsible for making the first four Wario Land games have moved on to the WarioWare/Game & Wario series. Biker Wario has been the "main" version of the character since 2003 -- he only wears the overalls in sports spinoffs and the outsourced platformers. Your Dr. Mario comparison doesn't make any sense. EAD Tokyo didn't drop the main Super Mario series in favor of Dr. Mario.

That's a poor way to put it. Wario Ware is an entire franchise, Dr Mario is a puzzle spin off. Wario is like 90% represented by Wario Ware in Smash Bros, so unless you can say Mario is represented in Smash via Doc, than the question is pointless.
