Still the only football game I've ever bought, and it was a damn fine one. They put it out for twenty dollars, how crazy is that?

Then EA realized the genre was in danger of being consumer-friendly, and locked that shit up right quick.

really wish the GB crew would stop referring to europe like it was just one big cultural blob.
It's fine, and very common among Americans, some even think the countries are like US states. I think the EU confused things for them even further too.

Besides, if they started trying to specify individual countries, there would just be even more mistakes for people to bitch about.

I doubt many Americans think the European countries are equivalent to states, though I'm sure we generally don't appreciate the significant cultural differences between them. That being said, it's also fairly common for non-Americans to lump all Americans together when different regions or states are very very different. The American South vs the Northeast or Northwest. Someone from Vermont might better relate to a Scandinavian than a Texan or someone from Mississippi. I'm sure it's that way to some extent with all countries but the US is just so damn big.

"Don't you know Don Bradman is...dragonborn?"

The start of that QL is seriously some of the funniest stuff I've seen on the site.

Let's be fair, every time they don't refer to Danny as being British is a step in the right direction.

As a wonderful and beautiful american, i only recently (like 5 years ago or something) discovered that England DIDNT encompass the entirety of the island next to Ireland, what we informed folks call great britain. To be fair, the only good thing to come out of that region for years was Braveheart and it was mostly fictional, so that's what i was working with.

Like, i thought the whole thing was england and everything else was like states within england, like scotland and wales were just like a florida or a something.

I know better now, and i knew about accents the whole time so i wouldn't confuse a scotsman with an irishman. But you guys sure made that harder than it needed to be, with your britains and great britains and your United Kingdoms and shit.

As a Norwegian, it took some years to fully understand that. So Americans aren't alone in their ignorance here.

I'd love to go to America.. but the gun laws seriously scare me!

Well, to be fair, after 23 years of living here I've never seen someone out in the open with a gun and I've only been in a handful of houses with guns. It's not like I live in the middle of nowhere either.

It's more of an irrational fear on my part because of the likelihood of being shot or worse. The first time I saw a real gun was last year in Paris with the French police patrols, and I was scared for my life.

Don't be scared. We deep fry things and our greatest exports are Bon Jovi, Beef and
Booze(Whiskey, Bourbon).

So you're basically like a worse version of Scotland? They deep fry fucking Mars bars, exported Texas (the band, not the second largest state), Angus beef and Speyside whiskeys.
